Book Blurb:

An immortal war has been brewing in the darkness . . . And now one woman has stumbled into the shadows.Chicago private investigator Kira Graceling should have just kept on walking. But her sense of duty refused to let her ignore the moans of pain coming from inside a warehouse just before dawn. Suddenly she finds herself in a world she’s only imagined in her worst nightmares. At the center is Mencheres, a breathtaking Master vampire who thought he’d seen it all. Then Kira appears—this fearless, beautiful . . . human who braved death to rescue him. Though he burns for her, keeping Kira in his world means risking her life. Yet sending her away is unthinkable. But with danger closing in, Mencheres must choose either the woman he craves, or embracing the darkest magic to defeat an enemy bent on his eternal destruction.

My Thoughts:

Being nearly immortal has lost its luster a long time ago to Master Vampire, Mencheres. He has seen it all and done things he is not really proud of, and now he is a depressed and quite honestly, a suicidal vampire. We meet Mencheres when he is trying to commit suicide by the hands of some violent Ghouls, when a human woman, named Kira, saves him. Even though he did not want to be saved.
Kira is a private investigator, whose life gets turned upside down when she decides to save a man from certain death, one night after work. Little did she know that, that man would show her a world that she never knew existed. I am a huge Jeaniene Frost fan. Her Night Huntress series is right up there with my favorite ones, but her first spin-off attempt, First Drop of Crimson, did not blow me away. When I found out that Mencheres was going to be the hero of Eternal Kiss of Darkness, I didn’t know what to expect, because I was never really partial to him.
However, I was utterly blown away by Eternal Kiss of Darkness and I am so in love with Mencheres now hehe. I loved learning more about him, and he is quite a surprise to me. A very mysterious and brooding vampire who is actually a very good man, with a sweetness that caught me off guard. Kira was the perfect heroine for Mencheres. A strong woman that knew exactly when she needed to put him in his place and a great match for him emotionally and mentally.
Eternal Kiss of Darkness is the perfect addition to an already wonderful series. A beautiful romance that is perfectly balanced with a very compelling plot and a lot of great action. A must read for any paranormal romance lover out there! Now I just can’t wait for the next Night Huntress book and Vlad’s spin-off! Jeaniene Frost, you rock!

I give Eternal Kiss of Darkness 5 Bookies.

I finally read this one this weekend actually and I loved it as well! I loved how Kira was so level-headed and rational throughout all of her adventures, it made me really like her as an individual. I liked Denise from Spade's book too, don't get me wrong, but her character was so different from Kira's. Nice review!

I loved this one too! And because I'm a bit of a Disney fanatic, I noticed a slight Beauty and the Beast feel to it. Although it's also from the original fairy tale too, the whole part where Kira can't leave Menechere's house and everything.

    LOVED it!

I'm still hesitant to touch this book because I pretty much hated First Drop of Crimson. I'm afraid Jeaniene Frost might not be able to write a compelling story without Cat & Bones.
