Interview Author Gini Koch, Katherine Katt and Jeff Martini + Giveaway

Filed in Gini Koch , Interview , The Geeky Lover Posted on December 6, 2010 @ 7:00 am 32 comments
We are really happy to not only welcome Gini Koch here today she’s also accompanied by our lovely Katherine “Kitty” Katt and the wonderful Jeff Martini. Their new novel, Alien Tango will be released tomorrow and they agreed to answer our questions as a celebration for this event. Be sure to stay tuned, there is a surprise at the end of the post. Welcome Gini, Kitty and Jeff.
Gini: Thanks, it’s great to be here.
Kitty: Likewise!
Martini: You know, you have a deadline.
Gini: Thanks for reminding me. Prepare for some torturous adventures later.
Martini: Just trying to be helpful.
Gini: As if I need the additional pressures?
Kitty: Jeff, leave The Creator alone.
Gini: Yeah.
Martini:I hate it when you both gang up on me.
Gini: Oh, it always works out for you in the end, so stop whining.
BLI: Could you all three please tell us a bit about yourself?
Kitty: I’m a regular girl who’s taken in just enough pop culture to be dangerous, who also has the awesome ability to think like the psychos and megalomaniacs, but who also has the gumption and genetics to handle them.
Martini:Nicely put. You’ve been working on that.
Kitty: Too true. Your turn.
Martini:I’m the head of the Field for all of Centaurion Division, I’m an empath, and I’m an alien. My people were relocated to Earth from our planet in the Alpha Centauri system. Now we protect our adopted home from the evil aliens trying to destroy it.
Kitty: You’re also drop-dead gorgeous.
Martini: Thanks, I think it sounds beyond conceited for me to say that, or even agree with it.
Kitty: But it’s true.
Martini: I’ll take your word for it.
Gini: Trust me, Jeff, you’re Mr. Studly. As for me, I’m a full-time author with a Mr. Studly of my own in the hubs, a wonderful daughter, and a passel of pets (The Canine Death Squad and The Killer Kitties). I live in Arizona and I like the heat.
Martini: You know, you like it enough that you could be part A-C.
Gini: Anything’s possible. But that kind of flattery might mean less torture coming.
Martini: I can only hope.
BLI:Gini, when you’re writing all the adventures of Kitty and Martini down, are you more a planner or pantser?
Gini: I have to be honest, I hate the term “pantser” because it insinuates that linear writers such as myself don’t plan. We do, we just plan differently from the outliners or scene sewers out there.
I’m an extreme linear writer, in the sense that I literally have to start with the title, then the first line, and go from there. However, the story is in my mind — I just need to let it out. I’m also a firm believer in letting the story go wherever it wants. I can always edit it, and since I edit as I go along, I can let things flow and, if I don’t think they’re working, cut them.
BLI: Who of you three has the most influence about how the story will develop?
Kitty: Well, me, of course.
Martini: I think I had more than a little to do with how things went.
Kitty: Jeff, I narrate the entire thing.
Martini: Yeah, but I influence.
Kitty: You mean you charm. Which is true. But still, it’s me sharing my story. So I have the most influence. Right, The Creator?
Gini: Honestly? It’s none of us. I call my hindbrain Master, and it’s Master who controls the story. However, Master is a firm believer in letting the characters do whatever the heck they want to. My job is to take their dictation and then to cut out all the extraneous junk or inaccurate scenes.
Kitty: I think you should have just said it was me and let it go at that.
Gini: I’m sure you do.
BLI: What do you think is the difference between a reader and a real Book Lover?
Gini: Gosh. Um. Well. Huh. Lemme ponder.
Kitty: A REAL Book Lover loves the Alien/Katherine “Kitty” Katt series!
Martini: Did I mention that whole concept of sounding conceited a little earlier?
Kitty: Yep.
Martini: So, any embarrassment?
Kitty: Nope. Not sure what you’re trying to get across.
Martini: No, I guess you’re not. I think a real Book Lover is someone who’s passionate about books, and who not only loves them, but tells others about them and shares the goodness, so to speak.
Kitty: I still think, in order to pass whatever test, they need to love MY books.
Martini: There’s a lot more than you in the books.
Kitty: Fine. OUR books. They need to love OUR books. You ready with an actual answer there, yet, The Creator?
Gini: Got it. For me, a real Book Lover buys multiple copies. I know readers who have both ebook and physical copies, some who buy two copies so they can have one signed and put away safely and one to read, some who lend their book and, when they don’t get it back, buy another copy, and so on. I think that sets apart the regular reader from the Book Lover. However, I do have to say that I love all the “regular” readers AND Book Lovers out there. We authors would have no one to write for if not for all of you. And that would make us sad. And lonely. We’d still WRITE, of course, but we’d be sort of sad while doing it.
BLI: What is a typical day in your life like? Tell us about the world you live in?
Kitty: Before I met Jeff and the rest of the A-Cs, my days were pretty standard. If you want to know what they’re like now, um, I point you to the books.
Martini: Yes, before you ask, she’s always this difficult. Our days are typically spent protecting the Earth from a variety of interstellar threats.
Kitty: And interplanetary ones. Don’t forget those.
Martini: How could I? Especially after what goes on in “Alien Tango”. Believe me, I remember.
Kitty: Basically, we kick evil’s butt and give it a wedgie, 24/7!
Gini: I, on the other hand, drag out of bed, giving meds and breakfast to the Canine Death Squad and the Killer Kitties. I get coffee and force myself to eat something. I stagger to the computer, see what’s going on, send out a Hook Me Up! email if there’s any news, do whatever other promo-type things I need to, then it’s afternoon. I write, in some way, shape or form. Then make dinner. If Castle’s on, I watch it. Then it’s back to writing and all the other business side of writing. I usually go to bed between 1am and 3am. And then it starts all over again. Unless I’m going to a con of some kind, and then it’s all go-go-go. I know, the glamorous life, right? Feel free to be jealous.
BLI: Kitty, how would you describe Jeff? What makes him your personal special Alien? Jeff you agree with Kitty about that?
Kitty: I know I mentioned “drop-dead gorgeous” before, right? But, anyway, in addition to that, Jeff’s smart, funny, caring, really in tune with me, and just a little bit dangerous.
Martini:: I’m dangerous?
Kitty: Um, I point you to a variety of things, particularly towards the end of “Alien Tango”.
Martini: There were reasons.
Kitty: All good ones. But a girl likes a guy with a little bit of danger and intrigue, you know. So it’s all good.
Martini: I hope so. Oh, and I’ve learned not to disagree with Kitty. I pretty much never win. But I’m good with that.
Kitty: Oh, and he’s also a god in bed.
Martini: I’m blushing.
Kitty: No. You’re doing that sort of smirk that I think is really sexy.
Martini: Yeah? How sexy?
Kitty: Very sexy. Like, all Mr. Jungle Cat sexy.
Martini: Rowr.
Gini: Stop it, you two. Interview time. You can go off and paw each other later.
Kitty: Spoilsport.
Gini: You know it.
BLI: Jeff, what drew you to Kitty? And yes we know you want to marry her.
Martini: Simple — her brains and her courage.
Kitty: Really?
Martini: Really.
Kitty: You’re so sweet.
Martini: Thanks. That you’re a hottie from Hot Town wasn’t a deterrent, of course.
Kitty: Jeff, that joke hasn’t been new since dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Martini: It was new for me. And I think it’s pretty funny, really.
Kitty: Aliens are weird.
BLI: And we don’t want to leave anyone out. Kitty, Jeff, what do you think about Gini? Is she doing your story justice?
Kitty: Girl, you seriously think we’re going to sit here and diss The Creator? I mean, come ON.
Martini: She’s a benevolent god.
Kitty: True, but she has her limits.
Martini: Well, what were you planning to say? I think she’s great. There was a point where I really didn’t think I was going to get to keep the girl, and The Creator said, “Let it be so, let the good and true man win fair lady.”
Kitty: She never, ever said that, and if she did, she surely didn’t say it that way.
Martini: Sounded that way to me.
Kitty: I chose you. She merely let me choose you.
Martini: You say tomato, I say tomahto.
Kitty: You don’t ever say “tomahto”.
Martini: Figure of speech. Would it be clearer if I said, you say hyper-speed and I say too slow to keep up?
Kitty: Aliens are weird.
BLI: What will Alien Tango be about? What did the Fuglies come up with this time?

For Katherine “Kitty” Katt, Alien Super-Being Exterminator, anti-alien conspiracies, threats from outer space, and a couple of killer alligators are all in a day’s work. But internal alien schemes and some major romantic complications bring new meaning to the term ‘chaos and confusion’.

It’s been five months since Kitty joined Centaurion Division, working with the aliens from Alpha Centauri. She and Jeff Martini have grown closer as a couple and life looks rosy. But when an experimental spacecraft is mysteriously returned to the Kennedy Space Center, Kitty and the rest of Alpha Team are called out to investigate and are immediately embroiled in life or death situations that scream ‘political conspiracy’.

The team must survive repeated murderous attacks, remove a mysterious space entity from a group of astronauts, and avoid an unhinged woman with a serious crush on Kitty’s old high school boyfriend. And that’s all before the masterminds decide Kitty’s extermination is vital — and take matters into their own hands.

Gini: Alien Tango, it’s all about the ‘gators, baby!
Kitty: The Creator won’t let us say anything more.
Martini: Mum’s the word.
Kitty: Mum. Mum. Mum.
Gini: Heh. I love that movie.
Martini: Yeah, The Creator made us all watch “Galaxy Quest”.
Gini: You liked it.
Martini: True enough. I think the placement of their actual solar systems was off. In the movie, I mean.
Kitty: I do not want to know.
BLI: Gini, will we learn more about Christopher in this book, or any later Kitty novel or do you plan to give him his own Series?
Gini: Christopher is an integral part of the series, so you’ll learn more about him, and the other characters, as the series goes on. However, this is Kitty’s series, so, no, no one gets their “own” series. It’s all Kitty and Company, basically.
Kitty: As it should be.
Gini: One offs are always a possibility. But that would be later on.
Kitty: I think one offs are a bad idea.
Gini: I promise you. If I do any, you’ll like them.
Martini: Will I like them?
Gini: Next question, please!

BLI: Will there be more adventures in this series? What is next on your schedule? Any other projects planned we should keep our eyes open for?

Gini: As you know, “Alien Tango” comes out December 7th (also known as “tomorrow”). “Alien in the Family” will release on April 5, 2011. “Alien Proliferation” will release in Winter 2011. And DAW Books just confirmed that they’ve bought Books 5 & 6, so “Alien Diplomacy” and “Alien vs. Alien” will be coming in 2012. I have the next several books in the series mapped out, too. So, basically, as long as DAW wants to publish and all the Book Lovers out there want to read, there will be Alien books.
I also have two short stories written under my Anita Ensal pen name coming out in two DAW anthologies. “Wanted”, which is a science fiction romance short, will be in “Love and Rockets”, which releases Dec. 7th (yes, the same day as “Alien Tango”; yes, I’m gonna be busy). “Being Neighborly”, which is a rural fantasy short, will be in “Boondocks Fantasy”, which releases Jan. 4th, 2011.
BLI: Gini which 4 characteristics should a perfect hero have in your opinion? Kitty do you think Jeff fits that bill?
Gini: I think a perfect hero should be intelligent, funny, brave, and willing to sacrifice himself if he has to, especially to save the day and even more especially to save the heroine. If he’s really, really, really ridiculously good looking, that’s a plus.
Kitty: Oh, Jeff totally fits that bill. I also think god-like in bed should be a hero requirement. He’s all that, too. AND a bag of chips.
Martini: I’m a bag of chips?
Kitty: Figure of speech.
Martini: Humans have strange ways of talking.
Kitty: And aliens are weird. What’s your point?
BLI: Can you tell us 3 reasons why people should read about your adventures?
Kitty: We’re funny, we’re awesome, and the sex scenes steam up the place!
Martini: We’re not like everything else on the shelves, there’s lots of action and humor along with science fiction and romance, and the cover art is both excellent and captures the essence of the stories in one image.
Kitty: And the sex scenes steam up the place!
Martini: You’re such a simple creature.
Kitty: I come by it honestly, though.
Martini: And I appreciate it, believe me.
BLI: Can you summarize your adventure in Alien Tango twitter style (140 characters or less)?
Kitty: Sure — it’s all about the gators, baby!
Martini: You stole that from The Creator.
Kitty: Did not.
Martini: It’s on something like every other blog post of hers. She said it like three answers ago, too.
Kitty: She could have gotten it from me.
Martini: I know when to stop arguing. Okay, my summary — I hate him, and you’ll find out why.
Kitty: Seriously? That’s your entire summarization of all our adventures in “Alien Tango”? Seriously?
Martini: It sums it up for me, trust me.
Kitty: I don’t hate him at all. And I don’t think you should, either.
Martini: Thank you for proving my point.
BLI: Gini while they are not paying attention could you tell us who’s your favorite secondary character? And why?
Gini: Well, I, of course, love all my supporting characters, even the villains. But, actually, I have two who are truly my best supporting beloveds. One is James Reader, and the other you really meet for the first time in “Alien Tango”. See if you can figure out who my other fave supporting character is when you finish the book. (Yeah, I’m not telling. Yet. LOL)
Martini: I hate him. I really hate him.
Kitty: Blah, blah, blah.
Gini: Really, Jeff, stop whining. I love him, so get used to the idea. He’s not going anywhere.
Martini: Oh. Good.
BLI: If you had to choose: are you more a dog or a kitty person?
Gini: I love cats, dogs, horses, and most other things with paws or hooves and fur. I’m not much of a girl for birds, though some are fine, and the less said about my relationship with the slithery side of the house the better. However, if forced to choose only one, cats, all the way.
Kitty: Is there really some sort of anticipation for how I might answer this question? Same answers as The Creator for this one, and, duh, cats, of course.
Martini: Cats. Especially smart, sexy ones.
Kitty: He really is endearing, you have to admit.
BLI: If you combine 5 super powers for your ideal superhero what would they be?

Gini: Super strength, super speed, super fast regeneration/healing, impenetrable skin, and immunity to disease. Oh, wait. That pretty much describes Wolverine. Shocker.

Martini: That actually describes Superman. And I agree that he’s the best. I have a lot of relatability to him, seeing as we’re both alien heroes protecting our adopted world.
Gini: Whatever. Supes is fine but Wolverine is way hotter.
Kitty: I think Wolverine is the best superhero, too. EVER.
Martini: Better than me?
Kitty: Um…yeah.
Gini: Me too.
Martini: Seriously? You both would take Wolverine over me?
Kitty: Um…
Gini: Unfair question!
Martini: Unbelievable. You’d both take Wolverine over me. What about Captain America or Iron Man? Should I be worried?
Gini: As portrayed by Chris Evans and Robert Downey, Jr.? Um, yeah, especially if I can get Hugh Jackman as Wolverine to complete the set.
Kitty: Me too! Me too!
Martini: And everyone wonders why I’m jealous.
Kitty: Oh, I’m just kidding. None of them have your regenerative powers. Well, other than Wolverine.
Martini: I’m going to go kill a superbeing. Preferably one that looks like Wolverine.
Gini: Best of luck. Kitty and I will spend the time you’re gone checking out mostly nekkid pics of Hugh, Chris and Robert while you’re gone.
Martini: Only them?
Gini: Seriously, you have to ask?
Martini: No. Enjoy your visual stroll through Hunk Land. I’ll say goodbye now.
Kitty: Call if you need me. This is an awesome pic of Chris Evans.
Gini: Too true. But then again, aren’t they all?
Martini: You have a deadline.
Gini: Tomorrow is another day and all that.
Martini: You mean it’s release day.
Gini: Yeah, it is. And I’m gonna stare at the pictures and there’s nothing you can say to stop me.
Martini: I have an idea for a scene in “Alien Diplomacy”.
Gini: Except that. Bye all, gotta go create!

Please don't enter me into the giveaway. I just wanted to say how much I loved the interview! This trio is so entertaining and put a smile on my face on this cold tiring morning. 😀

  • RK Charron December 6, 2010 at 7:50 am

    Hi 🙂
Thank you for the fun interview. I loved the characters' voices & interaction. I'm going to print this interview out & add it to the books as an "Extra".
    Love Gini's humor!
    All the best,
    RKCharron

I thought 12 hours out of the 24 would be Kitty and Martini in bed, in the shower, finding an empty linen closet and other places to have some down time in their own special way.

I don't mind taking that character Martini can't stand for a little R&R on my end. 😉

    No need to enter me.

  • Sharon S. December 6, 2010 at 10:07 am

I have been reading about these books all over the web and I am starting to think I might be missing something if I don't read them . I love the humor in the covers and titles and that alone puts a book in my TBR list. Look forward to reading them 🙂

Great interview. How could you not love a guy who loves cats? I would love to read the book.

    Gini & Kitty–
I was just wondering…since you're willing to drop Martini for several other superheroes: Have you gals seen the photos of Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern? (If so, does Martini know?) Great interview. Thanks for visiting! (Email in profile.)

  • Anne December 6, 2010 at 2:35 pm

A superbeing like Wolverine would be ccol, except who'd want to see him killed?

Since, those of us who read #1 know, Martini wasn't sterilized, does that mean we'll have little Martini/Katt hybrids before the series ends?

    @Bells – glad we made you smile! {HUGS}

@RK – thanks! What a sweet and super idea!

@KB – you have but to ask for your latest clone, my dear. ;-D

@Sharon – we do our best to bring the funny, so good luck & hope you enjoy!

@Debbie – Martini is quite lovable, in my totally unbiased opinion. LOL

@LSU – I'll let Kitty answer this one: Absodamnlutely I've seen RR as Green Lantern! And I don't care if Martini knows about it. RR's totally hot, and should make Green Lantern more interesting than he's ever been before!

@Anne – I don't think it's actually possible to kill Wolverine (making him that much more awesome). Though, if you pay attention to the superbeing Kitty describes when she's in the warehouse, it's a lot like Wolvie. (On purpose, I might add.) And, as for your question, a) read the books to find out, and b) I point you to the title of Book 4 if you want more info.

  • Alexa December 6, 2010 at 6:34 pm

That was probably one of the best character interviews I have ever read. I love how Kitty and Martini play off of each other, it is very entertaining. I would love to read about their story.

Gini- I live in Arizona as well and I also love the heat. Are you doing any book tours anytime soon because I would love to come to one!

Thanks for the great interview and giveaway!

  • Gini Koch December 6, 2010 at 8:02 pm

@Alexa – I'll be at Borders Waterfront in Scottsdale on Wed., Dec. 8th (this Wed.) from 7-8:30pm, doing a writers workshop and a book signing. Details are at my website (www.ginikoch.com). Would be awesome to see you there!

  • Robin K December 6, 2010 at 9:57 pm

Great character interview. I love this type of post. I wonder if authors enjoy writing them or if they are a struggle.

Cannot wait to read the books!

  • Alexa December 6, 2010 at 11:19 pm

Gini- Thanks for the great info I will probably be there since that is only 30 minutes away from me. 🙂

  • Gini Koch December 7, 2010 at 12:46 am

@Robin – truthfully? It depends on the questions and if you're in the zone. It's very much like writing a straight dialog scene (at least for me), so it's work. But it's also fun, so worthwhile work, especially if folks enjoy it.

@Alexa – awesome! So excited you'll be there! (There will be chocolate for the attendees, too, as an added bonus. ;-D)

  • Sullivan McPig December 7, 2010 at 7:39 am

    Awesome interview as always!
Do not forget the McPig advisory warning when you do write those one shots! No menages for this piggy!

  • Cathie December 7, 2010 at 2:29 pm

LMAO! I loved this! Oh yes, Hugh Jackman made me a Wolverine fan. I never cared for the character until I saw the movies and now when I read the comics I'm thinking, "yummy". Though I always had a crush on Gambit and seeing him in the movie OMG *faints*. How about Green Arrow in the Smallville series? Whew, nice dreams there!

  • Gertrud Conoy December 7, 2010 at 2:38 pm

    Funny interview. Loved it.

Wanna ask Martini, if he read "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" & if so, how accurate is it? You know – I'm always thinking about getting my towel out in the garden to hitchhike to another planet – I need to know if it works. 😀

  • Sullivan McPig December 7, 2010 at 3:58 pm

I'm so going to get clobbered, but I'm a big Wolverine fan, but think Hugh Jackman isn't Wolverine! He's too clean cut and pretty to be Wolverine. Wolverine needs to be more rugged and has to have more character than Jackman.

  • SusiSunshine {The Geeky Bookworm} December 7, 2010 at 4:23 pm

@Sullivan McPig He's all mine and I'm not sharing. So no clobbering today.LOL

  • Gini Koch December 7, 2010 at 6:56 pm

@Sully – no worries, my beloved McPiggy, all warnings, if such are needed, will be clearly marked!

@Cathie – nice yummy round up there, girl! I liked the guy they chose as Gambit, but he didn't look like I think Gambit should.

@Gertrude — Martini says: No, as Kitty mentions, we aren't really into science fiction movies, TV shows, or books. They're too much like documentaries and it's painful if they get things wrong, and worrisome when they get them right. I'm personally more into reruns of the great shows like "Fantasy Island", "Love Boat", and "Let's Make a Deal" (the last one because I think it helps me figure out why Kitty carries the world in her purse).

@Sully and Susi – I love Hugh, so anything he's in is awesome, and I'll give you that he did a lot better with the role than I ever expected. But I do have to agree with Sully in that he's not really Wolverine, since he's about a foot too tall and such a nice person in reality. Robert Conrad or Ray Liotta would have been awesome Wolverines in their day, Conrad in particular. 😀

  • Ina December 8, 2010 at 7:31 am

oh my God! what a fantastic interview!! I saw your book a lot around on the blogosphere and I def have to read it soon…I don't know how I missed book #1 but that will change now!
and congrats on your newest release!
    greetings, Ina

  • Gini Koch December 8, 2010 at 12:58 pm

@Ina – thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Touched by an Alien is still out and about, so you should be able to find it wherever fine books are sold. ;-D

  • Michal December 9, 2010 at 5:51 am

Oh, this was a great interview! I love the idea of interviewing both the author and the characters at the same time. The interview really managed to show the characters, their personalities and how they interact with each other (I really liked the interaction, by the way :). I would have liked a bit more about the author, but it overall it was really entreating and a great read. (Also, I find the concept f he book so great. Romance. Aliens. What could go wrong?)

    Holy Hilarious Batman! Loved it.
My question for is for Kitty–do you still have all your old Comics? and do you keep them in those clear bags to keep them safe? Do they get magically moved around for you as you have moved from base to base?

Just finished "Alien Tango" LATE last night (couldn't put it down.) LOVED it.

  • natalie23 December 10, 2010 at 9:27 am

    My question is for Martini

When asked about superpowers, it was all about the male superheroes, so what superpowers would your ideal superheroine have?

    natalie23(AT)hotmail(DOT)co(DOT)uk

  • jmspettoli December 10, 2010 at 9:46 pm

This interview is very entertaining. I haven't read these books so it was great to get a glimpse of the characters. I'm definitely adding these books to my TBR pile. I'm loving the concept of Aliens and Romance together, it fits yet it is not at all common. My question then is what made you decide to write an Alien Romance? What was the inspiration for it?

    spettolij AT gmail DOT com

  • linaramz December 12, 2010 at 5:47 am

My question has already been asked so I'll just comment about how much I loved this post! Hilarious and awesome! Wolverine! *swoon* And I've been super wanting to read this book! Can't wait to get my hands on it! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  • Gini Koch December 13, 2010 at 6:27 pm

@Michal – glad you enjoyed it! There are a ton of regular interviews with me all over the place; you can find them via my website and blog (www.ginikoch.com).

@Allison – I love hearing things like that! And, to answer your question, from Kitty: That was three questions. Is she allowed to ask three at once? She is? Okay, fine, just trying to follow the rules and all, sheesh. Girl, of COURSE I do! And, duh, the ONLY way to keep them safe and secure is in sleeves (plastic sleeve with cardboard in it so that they can't get bent), so yes, every one is in a sleeve. They're cataloged, too. 'Cause when I care, I pay attention. And when I don't, um…well… I have all my comics stores with the 'rents, 'cause they know how to take care of them and no one's stupid enough to try to rob our house, 'cause if our dogs wouldn't get them, my mom surely would.

@natalie – per Martini: Our A-C women do have superpowers, mostly in terms of scientific aptitude and medicine, though they can be Dream Readers and occasionally Troubadours, Empaths and Imageers. And of course, they all can move at hyperspeed, as well, and have all our standard powers. But if you're asking what I, personally, would like in a female with superpowers, I'm partial to the power of being a badass, which Kitty's so very good at. I also appreciate tenacity and a sense of humor. After being nudged by The Creator, I like the power of flight, because none of us can do that, so it does seem like an actual superpower, as opposed to listing an A-C talent someone didn't get. So, flying badass females, I'm all for them.

@jm – thanks, glad you enjoyed it! The inspiration for the story was from a dream I had. It was a dark, scary dream, almost noir-ish, and I planned to write a dark, short, horror story from it. Within 3 pages, however, Kitty's voice was coming out strongly, and it was clearly not going to be dark. Then Martini breezed onto the page, charmed me and Kitty, and pretty much ensured that it wasn't going to be horror or short, either. So, I didn't decide to create something with an alien romance in it, the characters just told me what happened and I reported it. (It's a party in my mind, but it works for me.)

@lina – anyone who loves Wolverine is a-okay in my book! Good luck!

I'm already a Book Lover of this series and own multiple copies so don't include me in the drawing. I'm hoping someone new to the series will win and fall in love like I did.
I love these panels. I love that Gini is the Creator but that her muse is Master. SO funny and true.
    Great site and interview!

Ok, so the interview was awesome and kinda amusing.
@Gini : You already described the perfect hero, now for my question :
What's your all time favourite hero ?

@Amber – the characters do love their moments in the sun, don't they? LOL

@Pink – love that color! As for your question, I have two answers. First: my all time fave hero is my husband, because he's beyond awesome in every way. Second: if we're talking pop culture, my fave hero is…wait for it…Wolverine. Yeah, I know…what were the odds?

You can't blame them for choosing Wolverine. He's pretty much awesome!

@Martini: Do you have a favoirite female superhero? 😉

Thanks for the interview! It was fun 😀

@Sharli – I know! Wolverine is da MAN, and the mutant! Per Martini: Well, I kind of think of Kitty as a superhero, so she'd be my first choice. If I have to go with someone "official", I'd have to say that I'm partial to Jean Grey from the X-Men.
