Welcome to our new sexy edition of The Good, The Bad and the Are-You-Kidding-Me? This week we’re sticking to these 3 categories and applying them to Ménage covers! We’ve found that successfully portraying Ménages on covers is not always easy. Or maybe we’re just picky. Who knows! Be prepared for the best and the worst!

Reminder: We’re just talking about the covers and not about the books’ content. Some great books have horrid covers and vice-versa. 😉

Ménage on a cover: The good and the Bad and the Are-you-kidding-me?

The Good Sandwich:

Caro: I know we’ve already talked about the Tart cover so I’ll ust keep it short and say I love it. Now I just discovered the cover of Double Time and I love it too! It’s soft and sexy. I love the colors I love how they skin looks so soft. 2 thumbs up!

I like the cover of Tequila Truth. I love the black and white with a touch of red. It’s simple but effective.

Deadline Stressed Susi: I so can’t wait for Double Time either. Even though I don’t really care for the cover. Too polished for my taste. I adore Tart with all my heart. This cover is made of perfect. The Tequila Truth cover is only okay for me. I do like the idea with the black and white motive and the reddish orange in contrast to it but the dudes and the woman just look randomly assembled. *shrug*

Caro: Continuing in the men sandwich theme we have these 2 pretties! Forbidden Heat is so pretty, it’s hot without even showing that much skin. I love that. The colors makes it intimate and sexy.I love how she’s holding hands with one of the men. LOVE it.
I already talked a lot about Tempted so let’s just say it’s still one of my favs. It looks like a painting. Love.
Wicked Sexy is giving us a sexier/wilder view of the Ménage. I love how he’s grabbing her face. Black and white …again a great choice.

Deadline Stressed Susi: I like the Forbidden Heat cover BUT i don’t like the dude on the right. These briefs are meh. I’m shallow like that. I do adore the cover of Tempted– all that naked skin and the hand on her thigh- makes me wanna purr. And yes I do agree about the Wicked Sexy cover. The hand on her face- just rawr!

O_o Bad:

Caro: Dangerous Boys and they Toy….if the title isn’t enough to make me go all O_o the rest is definitely not appealing to me. They look like they spent 3 weeks in a UV stall. Also I usually like long hair but in this case it’s not working for me. And it just doesn’t look sexy, even her hand on his back doesn’t look intimate. Meh
Desire for Three’s problem is probably the 2 cut out men chest. I mean come ON they are floating there in the sky. Also she’s naked in a filed with horses? o_O I don’t like it.
i=I was unsure about Anchor and Storm. It has some nice elements but it just looks too porn-like. How the guy behind her is gripping her how she has a scrap of fabric around her chest. MEH. Too bad because it COULD have worked.

Deadline Stressed Susi: Bwahahhahaha! OMG the title and that cover? The body parts confuse me. I seriously had to take a close look to see how many ppl are on this cover. Just LOL. The Desire for Three cover is werid. The contrast between her skin and the background isn’t strong enough and again random dude chests- meh. And are there boobs hidden under the text? LOL And oh my what the heck does she have around her boobs on that Anchor and Storm cover? O_o seriously girl, I wouldn’t let that thing touch my arm and you put your girls in it? O_o Pfffft! And the hand of the dude in teh back seems to have a different skin tone than the rest of his body. I would get if it would be darker but lighter? Wearing gloves much?

NOOOOOooooooooo Are-you-Kidding-me?:

Caro: I know I know these are Ebook covers but who said ebooks should have ugly covers? Love at first sight had me O_O. So we have three badly cut out men who aren’t even looking in the same direction. And a very weird pic of a woman with a last minute hide my boob thingy. I mean O_O how is this thing staying on? I really don’t like this cover. I don’t like anything about it.
Trouble Comes in Threes is another weird cover for me. First I’m sorry but changing the color of the guy’s eyes and using the same pic doesn’t make it triplets. O_o. Then there’s the wolf . If that’s not enough we add a huge title . I should add that I’m not a fan of “too” explicit pics. I like sensual/erotic pics of couples on covers but this is not leaving much to the imagination.
*blink* *blink* Rachel’s Seduction is making me cringe. It looks like a bad porn movie with a slutty secretary or something like that. And the 3 different styles of font/colors just make it worse.
I think Lydia’s Twin Temptation is probably the worst of them all in my opinion.First the pose of the 3 models is very weird. I can’t understand what’s around the standing couple…looks like the kneeling guy is roping them together??? And the standing guy’s pose is 0_o. Now add the fact that the men’s faces just don’t do it at all for me. (and they’re twins ewww). And if that’s not enough please look closer at their disappearing legs. O_o. Eww. Eeeek. Noooo. *gag*. yes I’m a drama queen today.

Deadline Stressed Susi: Okay so that first one shouldn’t count as a cover. It’s just random naked people morphed together with a BLUE blackground. Blech! Next! The guys in the back of Trouble Comes in Threes freak me out. Seriously scary and not sexy at all. *shudders* LMAO I just thought the same about  Rachel’s Seduction. Porn! I think it is even worse because of all the bad cheap font choices. And I say porn again on the  Twin Temptation cover. Jeez, who do they make these covers for. Are there woman out there who buy that? Or is it for the masses of male erotica readers? Perhaps I’m teh only one who never sees those around.

What do you think of our selection? Which do you like which do you hate?
Are you picky about Ménage covers? Is there something you just can’t stand?
Anyone else think Siren Publishing should work on their whole line of covers?

Tart, tempted and wicked are the only ones that work at all for me

What? Are you telling me Love At First Sight didn’t win you over? I can’t believe it! lol 😉
I really like Wicked. Now I just need to check the blurb that goes with that cover

The girl in Tequila Truth stands there all defensive, don’t touch me! And the guys are not even looking at her. Even though the colors are pretty, the pic is not working. The bad and the worst, wow, you sure now how to pick them!

    • pattepoilue February 27, 2012 at 4:20 pm

Bwahahah you’re right now that you pointed it out I can see how defensive her pose looks. LOL

    • Sheree February 27, 2012 at 4:29 pm

Okay, that’s why the Tequila Truth cover bothers me. I wasn’t sure why I didn’t like that one whereas I did like the other.

When people discuss ebook covers, ones in the “are you kidding me” group are what comes to mind, which is probably why I rather buy print books (plus, no Paul Marron covers on e-only books).

    • pattepoilue February 27, 2012 at 4:30 pm

Yeah I used to think the same. This is what came to mind when I thought ebook covers but these last few years quite a lot of ebook publishers made a real effort. Now they just need to get Paul Marron on them and it’ll be perfect *g* you know thanks to you i’m becoming Paul Marron obsessed!

Ok, honestly, I hate the cover for Dangerous Boys and Their Toy. I hate the blurb even more. BUT, it’s still one of my favorite menage, erotic stories ever. AND, the cover doesn’t match the character descriptions at all and that irks me. A lot! Is it just me, or does the guy on the right side of the cover bother anybody else? His leg and butt cheek are just so wrong! As far as Anchor and Storm, the husband in the book is an old man. OLD MAN! Clearly not depicted on the cover. And, it is a period piece so there were a lot of options that would be better than this cover. I really hate the random piece of fabric covering her. But, it’s a pretty emotional story. Not the best but pretty good. I love your Good/Bad/Kidding posts. Keep them coming!

Thank you we love talking covers so we’ll keep doing it until ou all get bored of us 😉
See I hate when this happen! These covers suck and the books are worth reading. Seriously I’d never have even thought of trying Dangerous Boys. Now I will go check it out on Goodreads *g*
