You all know that I am a fan of Vegas romances, so it is my great pleasure to bring to you Kelley Vitollo‘s brand new romance, Luck of the Draw, which you might have guessed is one! So read on to learn more about the inspiration behind the story and if you leave a comment, you could even win yourself a copy of Luck of the Draw by Kelley Vitollo!

What Happens in Vegas…

Nope. It doesn’t always stay there! Rowan definitely learns that lesson in LUCK OF THE DRAW. I’ve always wanted to write a story where a character lets loose in Vegas. Rowan is strong and fun, but letting loose like that? Totally not her thing. As mean of an author as it makes me sound, I wanted to make her squirm. I wanted to throw her into a situation that she totally wouldn’t expect and where better to do that than Vegas?

Enter Breck Wilder. He was the perfect Vegas guy for Rowan to meet. I mean, a small town girl who loves to go fishing and just wants the quiet life of her B&B and a professional, poker-playing ladies man?

The inspiration for this story came from both of these characters. They were fully formed in my mind from the beginning. One of my favorite things to write is sarcastic banter between two characters and with this card player and small town girl, I could hardly keep them quiet! LOL. The book formed from two things: the characters, and the scene where Rowan sneaks out on Breck. I usually don’t write out of order, but that was the first scene I wrote in LUCK OF THE DRAW.

Now that I’m finished…I’m thinking I should have tried to get a Vegas trip out of the book. You know…for research 😉

Do you like stories where characters meet during a wild night in Vegas?

Kelley has been writing for as long as she can remember. She won her first writing contest in third grade for an essay she wrote on, “Tomorrow’s Leaders on the Move”. Like dreams sometimes do, they fell to the background for a while. She married her best friend, worked full time, and started her family. In 2004 Kelley, her husband and their new baby girl made a move from Oregon to Southern California and that’s when everything changed. As a stay-at-home mom for the first time, her passion for writing flared to life again.

Things haven’t been the same since.

With two incredible daughters, an awesome husband and her days spent writing what she loves, Kelley considers herself the luckiest girl in the world. She still resides in sunny Southern California, where she loves spending time with her family and sneaking away to the bookstore with her laptop.

The Billionaire's Christmas Baby500Luck of the Draw by Kelley Vitollo

Book #2 in the Shamrock Falls series

Rowan McKinley isn’t looking for one wild night while vacationing in Vegas, but she gets it anyway when she meets professional poker player—and professional ladies’ man—Breck Wilder. Breck’s easygoing charm and lighthearted banter draw in the reserved Rowan, and though she’s always dreamed of the kind of forever love her best friends Sidney and Kade share, she’ll settle for one night with the charismatic player.

After their crazy one-night stand, Breck never expected to see the mysterious redhead again. So when he shows up at a Shamrock Falls B&B looking to get away for a few weeks and Rowan answers the door, he’s floored. Breck’s rolling-stone lifestyle and ill-fated history with women means he’s not interested in anything long-term. But the longer he stays at the B&B, the more he considers dropping the poker face and putting all his cards on the table…for Rowan.

I like these kinds of stories. You know what they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, except nothing ever does, which is good for readers because that provides so many great stories.

Yes! I love any story where the main characters have a no-strings fling thinking they’ll never see each other again and then end up being brought back together for whatever reason- it’s always great to watch how they figure things out from that point. This book sounds great! Thanks for the giveaway!
