Book Blurb:

Here we go again …

Just when it seems life at Mythos Academy can’t get any more dangerous, the Reapers of Chaos manage to prove me wrong. It was just a typical night at the Library of Antiquities — until a Reaper tried to poison me. The good news is I’m still alive and kicking. The bad news is the Reaper poisoned someone else instead.

As Nike’s Champion, everyone expects me to lead the charge against the Reapers, even though I’m still hurting over what happened with Spartan warrior Logan Quinn. I’ve got to get my hands on the antidote fast — otherwise, an innocent person will die. But the only known cure is hidden in some creepy ruins — and the Reapers are sure to be waiting for me there …

My Thoughts:
Jennifer Estep just can’t disappoint me! Midnight Frost was just as amazing as I was expecting it to be and then some! Oh wait, I think I have said that before about a book in this series, but hey, I’m not to blame, Mythos Academy is simply among my favorite series at the moment!

I think I’ve said that before but I can’t help but saying it one more time: Mythos Academy is maybe the only series that reminds me a bit of Harry Potter, aka my favorite series of all time! Not that the plot or story or characters are similar in any way but because both series share the same quality for me. Each time I get a book of Mythos Academy in my hands I just want to lay back and savor every minute of it. And that, strangely, has happened to me only once before. Anyway, the thing is that Jennifer Estep managed to create an irresistible world, a story that one can read again and again and never get bored with it! Yes, I’m a huge fan of this series and how could I do otherwise? Everytime Gwen meets with her evil “twin” is just a delight to read!

I won’t say anything about what happens in Midnight Frost. I hate spoilers. Just know that no fan will be disappointed with it. The writing style is just as good as it was in the previous books, the action almost non stop and even if Midnight Frost is a little bit slower than the previous book in the series,  there isn’t a single moment I felt bored while reading it.

And here I will just have to make one tiny complain that has nothing to do with the value of the book but here I go: I missed logan in Midnight Frost. Yeah, I know one can’t judge a book in terms of missing a beloved character but I really missed him! So much that everytime I turned a page I would wish that he would finally make his appearance. At least when he did make his appearance he kind of made up for his absense. That scene in the cave was undeniable my favorite in this book. Not the most romantic, but definitely a favorite and for more than one reasons.

Anyway, Mythos Academy is one of the best YA series I have read in a really long time and I just can’t wait to get the next (and final?) book in my hands!

This series has really grown on me and since book three has been unmissable! I missed Logan as well but glad the events of the previous book weren’t overlooked. 🙂

My heart sped up when you mentioned Logan. It’s sad he doesn’t appear that much in Midnight Frost :'(

Ahhhhh…I need to stinking pick this series up already! This is about the 3rd review that I’ve read for this newest release and you have all had wonderful things to say about this series. Plus I read a lot of adult books and sometimes the YA novels can be a nice refreshing change. 🙂 Yep, I need to knock this one up on my list. 😀

I was unimpressed by Dark Frost so I fell behind with this series. Maybe I need to give Crimson and Spartan a go (I did buy them) so I can try Midnight. But my patience is limited with both the Mythos and Spider/Deadly Assassin series. 🙁
