Geekdom of Books: Staying Up-to-Date

Thanks to the wonderful pattepoilue I discovered a new wonderful way to keep on track with all the series I read. I already tried Shelfari and LibraryThing and discovered  that I’m more a Goodreads gal myself.
But although I use Goodreads daily I sometimes forgot that a new book in one of loved series came out and I nearly got a stroke when I noticed. So now we have this new site: fictfact.com

What is so great about it?
You can search the database for author, book title or series name and it list all the books in this series, even the soon to be released ones. You can now click on follow this series and fictfact will remind you of the new releases in this series. Sounds easy to me.

Okay I admit it was totally annoying to put all the series I read in there but those 30 minutes work will save me a lot of heartbreak in the future. Yeah, I know I can be really dramatic. LOL

But what else can fictfact do?
Above I posted a screenshot of my home screen in fictfact. On the right you can see the books I have to read next in my series and on the left you can see the books that will soon be released, sorted by date. I really love this.
It also makes wonderful suggestion about new series you could like and this way also reminds you of the ones you forgot to add to you library. LOL
You can also find a wonderful new releases calendar where displays all the releases in this month and not only of the series you follow. Very handy.

That’s all I discovered so far.

How to learn more about fictfact: website, twitter, facebook

Anyone has more experience with fictfact?
Or how do you keep up to date with your series?

What a wonderful site! I'm a goodreads gal myself, but this looks like a perfect way to keep track of the (growing) number of series books that I read. Thanks for passing it along.

    Went there 😀

Hehe I'm glad you found it useful too! I love how it reminds you which is the next book you need to read. The only thing that would be better would be to have a feature 'reading' or 'I own'…because I've only seen the feature "read" and sometimes that doesn't reflect my TBR pile. I recommend this site to every series addict *g*
I'm still a Googread addict but these two sites complement themselves pretty well.

So happy for this "heads up" as a longtime member now of Goodreads and new member to Paperbackswap both places have my WIsh, TBR, Reminder Lists and this site is going to help me immensely in my organizing…

I found this site about a week ago and I agree it's great. The major drawback I've found so far has been that it doesn't let you list the series or books that you have on hand but have not read. They did drop me a note saying that this was an enhancement that was planned for the future. Hopefully, very soon as I tend to collect all the books in the series(if its a trilogy or 5/6 book series) before reading them. I tend to keep my inventory on my ReaderWare software and use fantasicfiction.com to keep up with the correct order of the series. Since this shows the new books coming out in the series and their dates, I think it will be very useful once they add the feature for unread books.

Another book keeping place!?! I thought GoodReads was to tell you when books by authors you have on your shelves came out. I am going to have to take a look around this site as well.

    Thanks for sharing!
