Book Blurb:

Nine Rules tells the story of Lady Calpurnia Hartwell, a 28-year-old spinster who, in a fit of frustration, makes a scandalous list of the nine things that she would do if she did not have to face society…or the consequences.

*Kiss someone- passionately
*Smoke cheroot and drink scotch
*Ride Astride
*Fence
*Attend a duel
*Fire a pistol
*Gamble (at a gentlemen’s club)
*Dance every dance at a ball
*be considered beautiful.
Just once.

Lady Calpurnia Hartwell has always followed the rules, rules that have left her unmarried—and more than a little unsatisfied. And so she’s vowed to break the rules and live the life of pleasure she’s been missing. But to dance every dance, to steal a midnight kiss—to do those things, Callie will need a willing partner.

Someone who knows everything about rule-breaking. Someone like Gabriel St. John, the Marquess of Ralston—charming and devastatingly handsome, his wicked reputation matched only by his sinful smile.

If she’s not careful, she’ll break the most important rule of all—the one that says that pleasure-seekers should never fall hopelessly, desperately in love . . .

My Thoughts:
I really did not want to enjoy this book. I certainly did not set out to fall in love with another historical romance novel. However, “Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake” certainly put me in shame and filled my heart and eyes not only with love, laughter but tears as well. It seems Gabriel wasn’t the only one that was seduced by Sarah’s Nine Rules novel. 😉

The heart wrenching scenes are enough to warm up the coldest of hearts. You simply cannot and will not put this book down into the very end. I certainly did not have the will power to put it down once I started reading it.

Both Gabriel and Callie have plenty to learn about love and about one another. The heat levels become sizzling hot whenever they get within a few feet of each other. Another thing I enjoyed is how Sarah managed to include a mysterious male character that is sure to be great story ahead for Gabriel and Nick’s younger sister, Juliana. She is one hell of a spitfire woman as well. The twins and the English will not what hit them once they get a glimpse of this hot tempered princess.

Another thing I enjoyed is the courageous and spunky attitude I saw in Callie. She is the only one that can put Gabriel in his place with the help of her nine rules list.

I do not think any reader will be left disappointed either after reading Sarah’s Nine Rules novel.

I rate Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake 5 out of 5 bookies.

Its been so long since I read a good historical. This sounds like a great one to get back into it with. Historicals have always been my first love, they are what got me reading in the first place. With a title like this, I have a feeling its going to be an awesome book to read.
