Book Blurb:

Since being named on of London’s “Lords to Land” by a popular ladies’ magazine, Nicholas St. John has been relentlessly pursued by every matrimony-minded female in the ton. So when an opportunity to escape fashionable society presents itself, he eagerly jumps—only to land in the path of the most determined, damnably delicious woman he’s ever met!
The daughter of a titled wastrel, Lady Isabel Townsend has too many secrets and too little money. Though used to taking care of herself quite handily, her father’s recent passing has left Isabel at sea and in need of outside help to protect her young brother’s birthright. The sinfully handsome, eminently eligible Lord Nicholas could be the very salvation she seeks.
But the lady must be wary and not do anything reckless…like falling madly, passionately in love

My Thoughts:

When I read Nine Rules to Break when Romancing a Rake (Freakishly long titles too! LOL) I thought it was perfect and that the next book couldn’t possibly do better. Of course I was proven wrong (I loved being proven wrong). Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord (that we’ll call Ten Ways for short) was fan-ta-stic! It’s exactly what I want in a Historical Romance. The characters are lovable, the story takes place outside London (one fast grows bored of London settings). The plot is interesting and original…and the smex is very HOT.
Lord Nicholas is the twin brother of Gabriel from Nine Rules. When reading the first book I was curious about Nicholas, but in Ten Ways he’s just fantastic. He is so different from his brother it was a pleasure to get to know him better. Nick has a past and a pretty big one. He’s been burned once and we learn what happened to him throughout the book. Isabel our heroine, is a great character. She’s tough and cares for others, she would do anything to protect her ‘family’. I wanted to crush-hug her to death. My heart was breaking for her.
But let’s go back to Nick. I absolutely LOVED his character from start to end *drools* (Je t’aime Nicholas!). He’s a mix of gentleman and adventurer, he’s funny and loves to tease the heroine and let’s admit it, he’s a bit wicked *g*. I laughed a lot while reading this book. There is not a page I didn’t love, it’s never slow and everything is relevant to the story. I loved it (I know, I’m rambling but what can I say I LOVED it!). As I said Nick is wicked, well let’s say that this book is highly erotic. The smex was hot and very well written. I wouldn’t change a thing to this book.
The secondary characters were attaching too. I pretty much love Rock! He’s funny and so adorable (don’t tell him I said that!). Well as you can see, I adored this book. Those Twins really made the best on impression on me! Sarah MacLean wrote one of the best book I read this year! I simply cannot wait for the next book.

I give Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord  5 Bookies

I'm about halfway thru "Nine Rules…" at the moment and am still fanning myself over a particular scene I read last night. I will admit that in Nine Rules, Nick's character intrigues me but we don't see much of him. I guess I'll just have to read this one when I'm done 😉 Thanks for the great review!

@Jackie Thanks! I loved 'Nine Rules' too, it was really hot and funny…but I think I loved Nick's book more *g*
Just like you I was just intrigued by Nick in the first book…but Oh My!! He really is wicked. *blushes* I cannot wait for the next book! *bouncing*
I'll be waiting for your opinion when you're done with Nine Rules 😉

After reading "Nine Rules…" I've been looking forward to Nick's story. He seems to be a way more sympathetic character than Gabriel.

Loved "Nine Rules…" even though I thought the "ride astride" was not quite what Callie meant when she made the list. 😉
