Jenna Black’s cover and blurb followup to Glimmerglass, has been posted. Shadowspell is book two in the faeriewalker series.
On top of spending most of her time in a bunker-like safe house and having her dates hijacked by a formidable Fae bodyguard, Faeriewalker Dana Hathaway is in for some more bad news: the Erlking and his pack of murderous minions known as the Wild Hunt have descended upon Avalon.
With his homicidal appetite and immortal powers, the Erlking has long been the nightmare of the Fae realm. A fragile treaty with the Faerie Queen, sealed with a mysterious spell, is the one thing that keeps him from hunting unchecked in Avalon, the only place on Earth where humans and Fae live together. Which means Dana’s in trouble, since it’s common knowledge that the Faerie Queen wants her – and her rare Faeriewalker powers – dead.
The smoldering, sexy Erlking’s got his sights set on Dana, but does he only seek to kill her, or does he have something much darker in mind?
Literary Escapism has found out a nugget of info about the upcoming movie adaptation for Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander movie. The IMDB Pro page has some nuggets of info and it looks like filming may start sometime in 2011, although this is not concrete information. But hopefully there will be some movement in production and casting soon.

This week is Banned Book Week and many bloggers/readers will be participating in picking up a book that has been banned. This is a list of bloggers/events which will be taking part. This leads to out question of the week:
Has anyone ever encountered some form of book censorship in their lives or have read a book that was banned?
I was lucky enough to read books without being censored by anyone although I have gotten in trouble for reading certain Historical Romance due to the covers of nekked man boobs but I always managed to finish or read the book without being stopped.

It's because of BBW that I learned that some Judy Blume books were banned. I grew up on them. "Blubber", "Are You There God? It's Me Margaret"…they were YA reads with emotional resonance, what is so wrong with that? Unbelieveable.

I also read "Of Mice And Men" & "The Kite Runner" both were banned at some point.

I went to a Catholic School, and right around 5th grade started having trouble during "reading time" (the first 15 minutes of our English/Lit class) for choosing "unacceptable and inappropriate" materials.

I lent a book to a friend (one of Anne McCaffrey's), and her mother flipped her shit at all the CRAZY KINKY ORGASMIC SEX. Which was hilarious since I didn't remember any highly descriptive sex scenes. At that point the teachers started censoring my reading materials. They took away anything SF/horror/fantasy. (My Stephan King! My Marion Zimmer Bradley!)

But I got my revenge. I took in my dad's copy of Macbeth, which was promptly confiscated, and he had a few things to say about an educational institution that censored Shakespeare. Heh.

#1)I think Chrispoher Plummer is an excellent choice for Henry Vanger and though I have never seen Rooney Mara act she definitely has the right look to play Lisbeth Salander.
I loved these books and am working on my reviews for book #1 & #2 of the trilogy. I haven't finished book #3 because it is a much darker read than the first two and that is really saying something! Darkness aside these books were fantastically written & it is a true tragedy that the author passed away before they were published and the world will never get more from this incredibly talented man.

Anyone else love or hate the Millennium Trilogy (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy)? Excited about the English version of the movie being made?

#2)To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the Millennium Trilogy ended up on the Banned Books list (if it's not already…I'll have to look it up). I have read several books currently on the Banned Books list & I guess you could say I have read several that will probably end up on the list someday. I wish there wasn't a List of Banned Books at all…that we even have to have this week every year is a tragedy to me.
