Book Blurb:

WORTH THE WAIT

Ella Tipton is a survivor. In the wake of an attack that left her nearly dead, she’s spent each day putting her life back together. Once vibrant and outgoing, she’s needed to reclaim the best parts of who she was while retaining the hard won lessons. There hasn’t been room for any romantic entanglements, even if she were ready. Still, it didn’t mean she had to stop sneaking looks at Mister Tall, Dark and Tattooed himself.

Security professional Andrew Copeland isn’t quite sure when his jones for the lovely and decidedly skittish Ella developed. He’s known her for years, has watched her triumph over the pain she’d been dealt. Cope is no stranger to women, but he knows the nervous flush he gets every time he talks to her is different than any attraction he’s had in the past. Determined to get Ella to let him in, Andy does the one thing he can think of to get close: he offers her hands-on training in self-defense.

While Ella’s sure he’s just being nice, the prospect of being able to touch him and gain the tools to push away the last vestiges of her fear is more than she can resist. Soon enough, Cope shows Ella his feelings are far more than friendly and re-ignites something deep inside her. Before long desire and love turn them both inside out.

My Thoughts:

I waited impatiently for the release of Inside Out and even before I started it I knew this book wouldn’t disappoint me. It’s book 3 in Ms. Dane’s Brown Siblings Series and it’s one of those you can easily obsess about. It’s hard to explain what makes these books so special but I will try my best to tell you why I loved it so much.

Inside Out brings us back to our beloved Brown family and their friends. This group really is something special. They are a really tight-knit loving family, even though sometimes not by blood. They are always there for each other but they also know how to give the other space if she or he needs it. They are real friends that care and worry about the rest. Just reading about them gives me such a warm and fuzzy feeling inside- I just don’t want it to stop but I can’t take a break from reading either. Even with a headache I couldn’t put this book down because it made me feel good nonetheless. But this book is about Ella Tipton and Andrew Copeland- even though the rest of the group always plays a big role through the whole novel.
Ella Tipton works hard to be as independent as she can be. She studies to get her Master in Social Work and still works as the manager in Erin’s cafe. It’s essential for her to feel in control of her life since this day her ex tried to kill her. She still bears the scars- out and inside of that horrible day but she made much progress. She went to therapy to work through it and she slowly becomes the woman she was before Bill. She finds her way back to life and finally allows herself to open up to the people around her. And there was always Cope, the guy who’s just over her league, the lady-killer with the fitting bad boy imagine. For her he’s made of yum and when he out of nowhere starts to flirt with her she feels like a woman again. Ella is such a strong woman. After everything she lived through she’s still standing and fighting for her rights to be who she wants to be. She’s still unsure and afraid at times but who wouldn’t be. I really admired her and I cheered for her when she showed the world she won’t take shit when she and her friends deserve so much more. I loved to see how she recovered- it gives you hope that you could live through nearly everything.
And then we have Andrew Copeland. I have to shamefully admit that I wasn’t really intrigued by him in the first two books but he made up for this in Inside Out. He is so much more than the charming lady killer the world believes him to be. Yes it seems that the whole female population admires and wants to fuck him but that doesn’t define who he is. He’s a very thoughtful man with so much creativity in him. He’s an artist at heart and he made my heart ache. I loved that Ms Dane made Cope as he is. She shows that the world’s perception of you is not what defines you- it’s what you do and what kind of person you are deep inside. Andrew Copeland is a loving and caring man. He has a big heart and he always tries to be there for his family and friends and help as much as he can. He sets himself and his life behind everything else of importance to him. He hates to be seen only as the Casanova and even more he hates that everyone seems to think he will be the same with Ella. Cope most of the time seem to be sure what he wants and how to get it but this little red head Ella is a huge challenge for him. It was so cute to see him being unsure and a bit of helpless when he tried to figure her or her reaction out. Yes he was the lady killer but never before he tried to keep the woman and this whole relationship thing is frighteningly new for him too. He really wants the relationship, he wants to be with Ella every day for the rest of his life but how do you make that work?
When these two find their way to each other it warmed me to the bone. It was a slow going courtship but it totally fit the situation. The chemistry between these two was huge nonetheless and it really makes your wish for you own Cope. Ms Dane knows how to make every sex scene highly erotic and emotional. Just wonderful for a cold night.
As I already mentioned at the start I love how Ms Dane includes her side characters, not only the couples of the former novels but everyone around seems to be completely fleshed out. They give her novel so much more life and vitality. Her characters are always intriguing and draw you in. I for my part can’t wait to find out what she plans for Adrian.
The story of Inside Out is very emotional and heartfelt. The whole cast has to live through some troubling times. I felt they worries, hopes and fears- this book didn’t leave my heart untouched. >She didn’t make it easy for our couple but she never left them without the compassion and love from the rest of the cast. There was always someone to help or to just offer an open ear for their troubles and concerns.
Inside Out made my heart melt- it gives you this wonderful warm feeling deep inside. It’s full of family and friends, love and compassion. An emotional read through and through. For me her Brown Siblings novels are forever seated on my keeper shelf and I know I will re-read their stories again and again. Highly recommended read- I adore this book with all my heart!

I give Inside Out 5 out of 5 bookies.
