Not the Marrying Kind by Nicola Marsh

Who said marriage had to be convenient?

LA party planner Poppy Collins has kept her secret side business – planning divorce parties as the Divorce Diva – a close secret, but keeping her business afloat is proving tougher by the day. When her sister’s divorce party gives Poppy the opportunity to save the day and boost her business, Poppy approaches Vegas golden boy Beck Blackwood for help. But this time, she’s about to get way more than she bargained for…

Beck knows Poppy’s secret, and he’s not afraid to use it to get exactly what he wants – a wife. With his reputation and business expansion plans on the line, the only way he can repair the damage is by getting hitched, and fast. And if blackmail is the only way to get Poppy to the altar, then so be it…

But they’re in the city of high stakes, and Poppy has a few aces up her sleeve. Now it’s time to find out if they’re playing to win… or if they’re playing for keeps.

. . .

………hear that? That’s the sound of a relatively quiet book release week (I say “relative” because next week will be a mad house; mark my words!). Of course, there are always goodies to be found, varied enough to satisfy the tastes of very particular audiences. And then there are those books that seem to defy simple description. Take Shine Shine Shine, for instance. Readers classify this debut as contemporary, science fiction, romance, drama, chick-lit, and general fiction… the premise sounds pretty high concept, so it might be one to excerpt before reading. (But is does have many great reviews thus far!)

There’s a string of promising contemporary romances this week, starting with very awesome Not the Marrying Kind by the (equally awesome) Nicola Marsh and continuing with the sweet-sounding When In Doubt, Add Butter. (Speaking of the latter, a food-centric romance sounds like a good time to me; I know what I’ll be reading very soon! ^_^).

Anything new catch your eye from the releases listed above? If not, what do you have planned to start reading over the next week?

Hmm the Jeffe Kennedy book, and some other covers caught my eye. But nothing has been bought of this collection. And of course, there is always more than enough for me to read! I keep buying 3 times as many books as I can read.

None of these really sends me to the bookstore…but When in Doubt, Add Butter, certainly encourages a trip to the kitchen. Thanks for the info.

Phew. I was afraid to look. My bank account is not happy with me this month – so book buying is out of the question for awhile.

Thankfully I have quite the TBR pile to keep me occupied….this may be part of my problem.

Put Sharps, The Coldest War, and Better with You Here on my wish list (waiting for the price to come down sometime). Loved the cover of BWYH.

Lot of authors/series I had never heard of before this time around.

Sounds as if next week is going to be a rough one for those with weak will-power (like me).
