Moonshifted (Edie Spence #2) by Cassie Alexander
Genre: urban fantasy
Release date: November 27, 2012 by St. Martin

Description:

After surviving a brutal vampire attack, Nurse Edie Spence is ready to get back to work—attending to supernatural creatures in need of medical help. But her nursing skills are put to the test when she witnesses a hit-and-run on her lunch break. The injured pedestrian is not only a werewolf, he’s the pack leader. And now Edie’s stuck in the middle of an all-out were-war…

With two rival packs fighting tooth and nail, Edie has no intention of crossing enemy lines. But when she meets her patient’s nephew–a tattooed werewolf named Lucas with a predatory gleam in his eye that’s hard to resist–Edie can’t help but choose sides. The question is: can she trust this dangerous new ally? And can she trust her own instincts when she’s near him? Either way, Edie can’t seem to pull away–even if getting involved makes her easy prey…

And the holiday titles are still streaming in! Now that we’re pretty much in the holiday season–as far as many are concerned–it’s no surprise the holiday titles are ever more common on the new releases list (and you’ll likely want to take note, in case you’re planning on participating in Stella’s Holiday Reading Challenge…check that out here). From the atypical A Caribbean Christmas to the heavier romantica Checking It Twice…the holiday reader has more options.

Of course, there are still plenty of trans-seasonal titles coming out this week, some with delightfully fresh premises/themes. For example? Wallbanger (by Alice Clayton, author of The Unidentified Redhead) sounds positively delightful, with the promise of playful snark, wit, and sweet romance…not to mention a bit of the titular activity (and I’m absolutely loving that title, btw).

City of Dark Magic sounds like an enjoyable genre bender…part rom, part com, part paranormal, part suspense… and a book description that was more unusual than I’ve seen in a little while. I know that the heartwarming holiday season is upon us….but perhaps sometimes it’s most fun to try something completely opposite. (Hey, it worked for The Nightmare Before Christmas, didn’t it?)

. . .

Plan on curling up with any of the books on this list? Have you found yourself in a holiday reading mood yet? (Will you?)

I did read some old Christmassy books a few weeks ago, but now I am reading my new books again. And this week’s new editions will certainly make for many days of happy reading!

    So. Many. Romances.

    Ugh.

But probably good for my wallet. I may have just spent on obscene amount of $$ on wool sweaters. IT IS COLD THIS WEEK.

I saw your Mallery review. I don’t think you and the romance genre will ever be friends. 🙂

It’s probably not as cold here as it is where you are, but I’ve been suffering, too. 32F and windy does not make me a happy camper. I’ve even had to wear my gloves indoors at times.

    Thanks for the mention 😀

I just checked out the Diener book on Amazon and saw that Blodeuedd posted a review. It looks good, but went on the wish list due to the price–have to mull it over.

Have to watch the pennies because I was very bad and had pre-ordered a bunch of books on your list (both Stones, Butcher, Andrews, Hearne, Neville, Barant, Alexander). That was in addition to yesterday’s Cyber Monday sale at Amazon where I stocked up on titles for both my mom and me. (Must commence a book diet ASAP!) Sadly, things are super busy right now and I don’t know when I’ll be able to get to all my good reads. In fact, I’m really considering locking my Kindle in my car outside to keep me from temptation.

I just bought Cold Days and Undead to the World. I can’t wait to read them!

Two okay Paul Marron covers and two good (one HAWT!) Thierry Pepin ones this week.
