If you love your shifters and would like to try a paranormal romance series a bit different I would recommend you try Eleri Stone‘s Lost City Shifters featuring jaguar shifters from the wilderness of the Amazonian rain forest! Eleri is celebrating the release of Rebellion, the 3rd book in her Lost City Shifters series published by Carina Press and stops by to tell you a bit more about it, and for a chance to win one of her books answer her question at the end.  😉

Thank you Book Lovers for inviting me today to talk a little bit about my new release, Rebellion and the Lost City Shifters!

I’ve been watching the Vikings show on the History channel and the first couple of episodes are about whether it’s possible to “sail West” with common wisdom being that there’s nothing out there but the end of the world and certain death. I can’t help but think how brave you’d have to be to test that belief, how amazing to actually find a new land and be the first among your people to step foot on it. That’s an adventure.

As a reader, my favorite stories are the ones that make me look at the world a little bit differently and introduce me to characters and places I never would have otherwise encountered. Creatures of myth, nightmare and legend. Lost cities and hidden civilizations. Vampires, shape shifters, and witches living side by side with the normal everyday human world. I love the idea that there might be more out there left to discover and I wanted to capture some of that feeling in the Lost City Shifters series.

Rebellion is set in the Amazon rain forest, one of the last largely unexplored places on the planet. Isolated, mysterious, the environment hostile and untamed. Cole, an American wolf shifter, is taking a huge leap of faith, stepping out of his comfort zone by travelling to negotiate a controversial treaty with an isolated tribe of jaguar shifters. The Yaguara cut themselves off from human and shifter society hundreds of years ago, depending upon the forest to protect them. Now that humans are beginning to encroach upon their territory, their tribe has split into two factions. One wants to meet the threat of discovery head on and find a way to adapt to human society and the other wants to continue to cling to the old ways.

While the Vikings sailed for plunder and glory, Cole, well, he wants mostly to escape his mundane existence as an executive in the pack-owned business. He’s tired of staring at walls and feels suffocated by his family’s expectations. He accepted this assignment because he wants to get back to doing what he went to school for—researching plants for use in treating disease. He’s looking for something more and even he doesn’t know quite what it is until he meets Taya. Well, maybe not their first meeting, that’s a little rough. It takes him a little while to figure it out, but once he does, he sets out to convince Taya that she means the world to him.

Wonder of discovery. Great danger and the potential for great gain. A man looking for a new start on life and a warrior woman who is definitely not looking to take a wolf as her mate. At least, not at first.

Rebellion by Eleri Stone

Book #3 in the Lost City Shifters series

Cole Brandt is a wolf shifter, sent by his pack to the Amazon jungle to negotiate a treaty. He’s unaware that the kingdom of jaguar shifters he’s meant to meet with has split—and Cole’s suspicion that jaguars are selfish and deceitful is confirmed when he’s seized by the rebel faction.

Taya Silveira, a jaguar shifter and fierce warrior loyal to the king, resents being assigned Cole’s rescue. She doesn’t approve of his pack’s involvement in her jungle—to her, wolves are greedy, weak creatures who will exploit the resources the Yaguara protect.

Struggling against centuries of ill will and prejudice, Cole and Taya must work together to prevent a devastating civil war. They can’t deny their physical attraction—with the heightened senses of shifters, their desires are plain. But if they give in to passion, they may be forced to choose between staying with their tribes, or staying together.
