Book Blurb:
The ghost of Kacey’s crazy great-grandfather threatens her life but just might save her marriage.

When the ghost of Kacey’s crazy great-grandfather mistakes her for her great-grandmother, he threatens to kill her for cheating on him. Meanwhile her husband, Heath, finds out she believes he’s fallen out of love with her and he sets out to show her just how much he loves her. However, he fears she’s crazy as she claims to see homicidal ghosts.

Although Kacey longs to save her marriage, she doesn’t know if she can stay with a man who doesn’t believe her and thinks she’s insane.

My Thoughts:

I don’t really know where to begin. I started reading and I thought this book had great potential. Mrs. Ladd’s writing drew me in and the story had a nice twist on the first few pages. We get to know Kacey who investigates her family’s past to escape the bitter truth that perhaps her marriage is dead. She believes that her husband Heath doesn’t love her any more and lost his sexual interest in her. I totally agreed with her judgement because at first he really ignores her and tells her that he’s not at all interested in getting hot and dirty with her. Everything changes when she first mets the ghost of her great-grandfather. I think I didn’t get why that changed anything for her husband but out of nowhere he rediscovers his attraction for. He talks with her best friend about the whole ghost story and when he starts to believe that his wife is showing the first signs of madness his libido is getting even greater. Perhaps it was a deep fear to lose her but this was the solution for all their problems.

As you may notice I didn’t really like that part. I thought it was for all the wrong reasons why her hubby wanted Kacey again and it didn’t feel like they really tried to change anything in their marriage besides now having wild monkey sex every 30 minutes. In my opinion they should have worked more on the emotional part but the only thing they changed was the amount of sex. Yeah, I know I can be really stubborn about that but that’s the way I am.

I also found one of my pet peeves in this book. I think even  in a marriage a no to sex should mean exactly that. I don’t appreciate the man (or woman) to force himself on someone. Even if they other part agrees after a bit it still doesn’t make the act right in my eyes.

My eyes also caught that Mrs. Ladd uses the same words really often to describe the sex. At some point I thought that it felt exactly like the last smex scene even if the pair actually did something else. I don’t really like the phrase of  “milking his” you know what but she used it nearly every time.

All in all Crazy in Love was really what the title said: a bit crazy and really hot. For my taste a bit more actual love would have made this book so much better. Perhaps I really need more than just the sex. The writing was good but the story had not enough thrill and I didn’t really connect to the characters.

I give Crazy in Love 2 out of 5 bookies.
