Consoling a sobbing dragon and serving pig buffets are just part of the job for Myrna Banks. Working for a mediation firm, it’s her job to get humans compensated for damages caused by the dragons who now rule. But her “typical” day is interrupted by Trian Chobardan, an old flame who sneaked out of her bed two years ago, taking her heart and a handful of classified documents with him.
Myrna would love to show Trian the door, but he’s been sent by North America’s reigning dragon lord for help negotiating a truce with a powerful rival to avert war. Myrna agrees to help, even though she’ll be stuck with Trian as a partner.
As the two work together, Myrna finds Trian to be surprisingly supportive—and still irresistibly attractive. Though her …
This week it’s time for a battle of the European covers again. We did our best to raid the local amazon sites to find something pretty and shiny or just awfully disgusting for you to look at. It was a hard task but we did our best. *wipes sweat from her brow*
You are welcome to join the discussion and judge the covers as you see fit. If you want to see a bigger version of one cover just click on it and one should pop up. Don’t be shy and tell us what you really think. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
Susi: The German Geist cover surprised me. I do love the US cover, it’s pretty awesome, but this one is different but still kind of …
We are back with some pretty new, or better said new-to-Susi, covers. After being swallowed by real life I had the time to finally look around the publishing schedules for 2013 and found some pretty and not so pretty titles for the upcoming months. We have something for everyone- from pouting werewolves, over yellow flubber(not kidding), snarling lions, wings, critters (maybe) and rock’n’roll to Zombies.
Join the discussion and let us know what you think.
Caro: When I first looked at the Cole cover (30 minutes ago), I thought that the little shiny spot on his mouth was a big (ogre style) tooth! LOL Because let’s be honest he looks like one of those savages races you see on World Of Warcraft or the sort. lol. I don’t like it much, mostly because the hai looks weird. The eye looks way too fake too. I mean I get that she goal was …
Welcome to our bi-weekly rendez-vous of The Good, the Bad and the Are-You-Kidding-Me?, where it’s safe to talk about the covers you love, hate or just don’t care one way or the other about. Just remember, we’re only talking about the covers and not judging the content of the books! Since I’m always pestering Susi about my Historical Romances, I thought we could take a look at what 2013 has in store for us in this genre. Historical Romance is not an easy genre for originality. Most of the time you get the same elements on these covers, same decor, same dresses (or same open shirt flowing in the wind *wink*). But even within these strict codes, a few covers are succeeding in catching my eyes. So let the judging begin! As you will see, Susi and I mostly disagree on these covers
Caro: I think the first thing …
Welcome back to our bi-weekly dose of The Good, the Bad and the Are-You-Kidding-Me? We want to thank all of you who participated to this Quiz. It’s always a pleasure for us to see all your answer. I admit some make me laugh a lot! We hope you enjoy these games as much as we do. Today we will announce the cover quiz winners and show you what were the right answers.
We were pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of you find nearly all the right answers. I would have been a pitiful participant because I didn’t recognize half of them! (yes it was Susi’s turn to choose the covers. And I think she was particularly evil! *g*).
First, the answers! It seems the 2 covers which were often missing were # 17 and #18!
#1 A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole

Welcome to our new edition of The Good, the Bad and the Are-You-Kidding-Me? This week we have a Game for you! Since you enjoyed the last game we played, we thought we could come up with something fun but different. Last time there was only 1 good answer for each question, but this time we’ll give room to YOUR knowledge of covers. You can answer with the covers YOU know, in whichever genre you want. The game is simple… We tell you a requirement (a thing, an animal, an object, a word in the title…) and you have to come up with a book cover that fits the bill. Of course that alone would be too easy So you can earn more points depending on the level of difficulty.
What can you Win?
Prize is a 15$ book depo shopping spree.
How to play?
Below you can find 17 challenges. …
Welcome back to our new edition of The Good, the Bad and the Are-You-Kidding-Me? This week we decided to talk about look-alike covers. We’ve all at some point stumbled upon a cover that looks very very similar to another one. Sometimes it’s only 2 covers using the same Stock photo but doing 2 different thing with it…but sometimes it’s exactly the same cover. We’ve dig up a few example (mostly Historical romances because these are the ones I remembered the most) to show our point. It seems to happen a LOT with foreign (or UK) editions. It’s also often the case with YA covers but we didn’t go there today (it’s just too vast a field). So take a look and tell us what you think…
Libertine’s Kiss by Judith James Vs Ruthless by Anne Stuart (UK/Mills and Boon)
Susi: I like the Judith James version more. The whole setting …

Today we will announce the cover quiz winners and yes we will also reveal the correct covers we were looking for.
So get a coffee and see if you got the answers right and if maybe you even won one of our prizes. *g*
