Clio Kaid’s had one crazy summer.

After learning she was one of a hundred teens who were genetically modified before birth, she and the others departed for “camp” at a classified military site.

Besides discovering her own special ability, uncovering a conspiracy, and capturing a killer, she’s also forged new friendships, found love, and managed to lose them both.

With no answers and the end of summer closing in, Clio’s terrified of going home more lost than when she arrived.

That first idea – the romantic scene that eventually became chapter twelve of “Solid” – was born in a dream. Now, I have vivid dreams all the time, but that one really stuck with me – kind of like good snowman-making snow , I couldn’t stop thinking about how those people could’ve ended up …

Eighteen years ago, a rogue Army doctor secretly experimented with a chromosomal drug on unknowing pregnant women. When he was killed not long after the children were born, any knowledge and evidence seemed to die with him – except the living, breathing, human products of his work.

The military kids, who come from across the nation and all walks of life, come into their own as lighter-than-air ‘athletes’; ‘indies’ as solid as stone …

Bookish Eye Candy: Peeta – The Hunger Games

Hunger GamesBook 1By: Suzanne Collins

Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, “The Hunger Games.” The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed.
