Crazy for Love is again one of Mrs. Dahl’s laugh out loud books. Like her Tumble Creek series, Crazy for Love will strain your laugh muscles and sweeten your day.
There are a few reason why I enjoyed it so much:
1. Mrs. Dahl knows how to write a witty conversation. Her dialogs just fit the situations and characters. She knows how to give every single one of them an unique style but never loses her funny touch. You want an example? Jenn, Chloe’s best friend is talking to Elliot, Max’ brother about his job (preventing the global outbreak of the flu):
Jenn took a deep breath to calm her nerves. “What you do is so important.”
“Ah, well. So is maintaining the sewer system.” He said it like it was a joke he’d heard before, but Jenn laughed in shock. “What?”
“Actually the sewer workers are more important. If cholera made a comeback, no one would be worried about the flu.”
2. Max, our hero in Crazy for Love, is probably the most worried person on this planet and I still love him. He would drive me crazy, that’s for sure but he tries to save everyone in such a nice and unobtrusive way I sometimes really wondered where he got that skill. He must have been a secret agent in his former live. He finds one excuse after the other to avoid certain “life threatening” situations.
“The little boys you helped dig in the sand? Tell me that wasn’t some weird sand castle phobia!”
Max scoffed. “Of course not. I’m not a freak, Chloe.”
“So you just like playing with kids?”
“No, I was trying to keep those boys from killing themselves. Do you know how many kids have been suffocated by collapsing sand tunnels in the past twenty years? A kid is way more likely to be killed by a sand collapse than by a shark attack, but no one pays attention to that.”
He worries too much but in Chloe he finally found someone who understands exactly what he feels and why. I think we were both surprised about that. She noticed his “little” OCD and tries to help him.
3. Chloe, the innocent bridezilla is one lovely girl. She is an accountant raised in a small town in a house, white picket fences style. Chloe is a girl I would love to be friend with- funny, nice and always there for you. She had a totally normal live before her finance decided to fake his own death. But now her life lays in ruins. She’s stalked by the paparazzi- all her life is exposed to the world and the trip to this island is her chance to enjoy some private moments.
4. The smex is seriously hot. OMG perhaps I would endure his overprotectiveness just to get some of that. *dreams*
But there was also one thing I didn’t like so much. The plot around Jenn and her secret was a bit solala. I was intrigued what she doesn’t want to tell her but when I finally found out I was a bit disappointed. Okay it was a really bummer but as her best friend she really should have told Chloe. Yep, I know that makes no sense at all without having read the book but my review, my rules. LOL
Besides that little thing Crazy for Love was an entertaining read I will probably re-read a few times. I love to laugh while reading and Victoria Dahl never fails to bring me close to tears from laughing so hard. Highly recommended contemporary romance for a hot summer night.
I give Crazy for Love 4 out of 5 bookies.

I'm a Dahl fangirl. I was a bit wary of this one given its premise, I was a fraid it might get too silly but I ordered it anyway. Good to know it's a good read!

I really enjoyed this book. I love the fact that I've seen a few reviews and everyone has a different quote – her writing is that good!

@Patti Yes I noticed that. LOL I wanted to find quotes yday and TRIED to skim the book a bit to find the best. I kind of read it again for 30 minutes and then I noticed that I shouldn't do that now. LOL
