All YA Love: My YA Wishlist

Filed in All YA Love , The Latin Lover Posted on September 8, 2010 @ 9:14 am 6 comments

Hey Everyone!

Amanda is on vacation and I took advantage of her absence to usurp her weekly spot to tell you about my YA Wishlist! ;-p  I seldom read YA (the last YA novel I read was probably Twilight), but somehow September is full of YA releases I can’t wait to get my hands on! So if you love YA I bet you have already marked these releases on your calendar, but even if you are like me and don’t read that many YA novels, these are still worth checking out.

So here is my
September
YA Wishlist

Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers (Personal Demons #1)

Release date: 14 September 2010

Amazon, Book Depository US, Book Depository UK, Goodreads

Goodreads appetizer: Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She’s spent years keeping everyone at a distance—even her closest friends—and it seems her senior year will be more of the same…until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can’t seem to stay away from him. What she doesn’t know is that Luc works in Acquisitions—for Hell—and she possesses a unique skill set that has the King of Hell tingling with anticipation. All Luc has to do is get her to sin, and he’s as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn’t stand a chance.

Unfortunately for Luc, Heaven has other plans, and the angel, Gabe, is going to do whatever it takes to make sure that Luc doesn’t get what he came for. And it isn’t long before they find themselves fighting for more than just her soul.

But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay…for all of them.

Firelight by Sophie Jordan (Draki #1)

Release Date: 7 September 2010

Amazon, Book Depository US, Book Depository UK, Goodreads

Goodreads appetizer: A hidden truth. Mortal enemies. Doomed love.

Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form. Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will’s dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She’ll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.

Paranormalcy by Kiersten White (Paranormalcy #1)
Release date: 1 September 2010
Goodreads appetizer: Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie’s dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

Halo by Alexandra Adornetto (Halo #1)

Release Date: 1 September 2010

Amazon, Book Depository US, Book Depository UK, Goodreads

Goodreads appetizer: Nothing much happens in the sleepy town of Venus Cove. But everything changes when three angels are sent from heaven to protect the town against the gathering forces of darkness: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio.

They work hard to conceal their true identity and, most of all, their wings. But the mission is threatened when the youngest angel, Bethany, is sent to high school and falls in love with the handsome school captain, Xavier Woods.

Will she defy the laws of Heaven by loving him? Things come to a head when the angels realize they are not the only supernatural power in Venus Cove. There′s a new kid in town and he′s charming, seductive and deadly. Worst of all, he′s after Beth.

So these are my “YA Must Haves”, what are yours?
Any great YA novels you could recommend to me?
