And Congrats to Steph because her new novel Moonlight Temptation was released today. Wooot, congrats.

Stephanie Julian: Who’s your favorite author and why?
Susi – The Geeky Lover: Megan Hart– I’m addicted. Her books a perfect, no matter which genre. And Sergej Lukyaneko– awesome novels no matter which genre.
Caroline – The HEA Lover: Are we THAT evil when making the interviews? lol Jim Butcher, he writes unique books and the series is getting better and better. *g*
Amanda – The Winged Lover: Jeaniene Frost – I have been professing my love for her since I first picked up Halfway to the Grave.
Lea – The Danger Lover: Oh man, this is brutal. I’m going to pick a dead author. lol Trevanian, he wrote the best spy thriller I’ve ever read – Shibumi.
Bea – The Charmed Lover: You ask evil questions. 😛 It changes but currently, Nicole Peeler. Humor, smex, action & awesome mythological beings

Larissa – The Crazy Lover: Are you trying to get on the Devil’s good side? hmmm Kelley Armstrong… many more, but she was one of my first UF authors!

Melissa – The Spellbound Lover: If I had to pick just one I’m going with Richelle Mead. I’ve just finished her Vampire Academy series and she is such a brilliant Author.
Jackie – The Quirky Lover: Guy Gavriel Kay, he writes sweeping, epic novels with elements of history and a pinch of the unreal.
Stella – The Latin Lover:  Kelley Armstrong, love her books: they are detailed, exciting, funny and witty!!
Veronica – The Sexy Lover: Ilona Andrews and Patricia Briggs. The humor, action and quirky romance these authors write about are amazing!
JoJo – The Cornered Lover: I’m bad but i can’t pick one! But I can share some of my Favs: J.R. Ward, Gena Showalter, Larissa Ione, Kresley Cole, Donna Grant, Cythia Eden, Karen Moning , And And And……….
Has – The Smutty Lover: I can’t choose just one, but authors who I adore, Patricia Briggs, Ann Aguirre, Ilona Andrews, Tamora Pierce, Nalini Singh I am going to stop but those are authors who I will reread and long for their new releases.
Stephanie Julian: Who’s your favorite blogger and why?

Susi – The Geeky Lover: Julia Rachel Barrett– she’s clever funny and writes awesome discussion posts.

Caroline – The HEA Lover: Janna @Janna E-Romance Reader ((Today is her bday so head of over and leave her some love). She is so nice & has great taste in M/M books!I lost my M/M virginity thanks to her (it sounds naughty lol)
Lea – The Danger Lover: I don’t have a favorite blogger, I admire many blogs.
Amanda – The Winged Lover: I suppose I can’t say me….So I would have to say J.Kaye from 365 days of Novel Writing and Eleni from La Femme Readers.

Bea – The Charmed Lover: Probably the Smart Bitches – smart, funny and covers a broad range of book topics

Larissa – The Crazy Lover: Danielle from ALPHA Reader. She is almost my reading soulmate, love her to pieces!
Melissa – The Spellbound Lover: There are so many good blogs out there. I’d have to pick Ink Crush She’s an Aussie blogger and has some fantastic reviews and blog posts.
Jackie – The Quirky Lover:  Can I say my best friend? Mel @ He Followed me home…can I keep him?. We are a kind of support group for addicted book bloggers, lol
Stella – The Latin Lover:  Julie from Reading Without Restraint! She is amazing: the sweetest and kindest person, she is such a thoughtful blogger!
Veronica – The Sexy Lover: It would have to be a great friend of mine, Bells from Hanging with Bells! who is a sweet and fun person to hangout with.

JoJo – The Cornered Lover: I would have to say my S. Pie AKA Intense Whisper. She has an awesome blog, and such fresh stuff she shares. I visit her blog daily, and I love when she posts new Book covers she has designed for authors!

Has – The Smutty Lover: There are loads but the ones I tend to visit weekly/daily because of their reviews and blog posts has to be The Book Smugglers, love how insightful their reviews and book reviews are. Dear Author again for the same reason and Scifi Guy because I think he has one of the best roundups in speculative fictions.
Stephanie Julian: What do you think makes a great book?
Susi – The Geeky Lover: The right mix of action, fun, wit and engaging characters.
Caroline – The HEA Lover: Good characters, flowing words and a great HEA. Yes that last part is vital 😉 (Oh and humor!)
Lea – The Danger Lover: Well developed characters that are woven into a riveting plot. I like an emotional read that pulls at my heartstrings. It makes that HEA all the more special.

Amanda – The Winged Lover: Real characters, engaging plot, witty dialogue and good story-telling.

Bea – The Charmed Lover: What Susi & Amanda said 😛
Larissa – The Crazy Lover: a perfect balance of interesting characters, good plot and a lot of fun.
Melissa – The Spellbound Lover: Captivating characters, a good storyline and witty dialogue.
Jackie – The Quirky Lover:  I love a book that has humourous situations, like Laura Kinsale’s Lessons in French…the cow in the kitchen? Priceless
Stella – The Latin Lover:  Flowing narrative, deep, layered characters, enough details, intensity in feelings and emotions and humour!
Veronica – The Sexy Lover: Interesting characters, the humor and snarky quips between the hero/heroine.
JoJo – The Cornered Lover: A Great flowing story, with characters that match. I think that is a big key point. The characters must fit in with the story.
Has – The Smutty Lover: Main thing for me has to be characters, if they are well drawn out and memorable and touch the reader than you have half of the winning formula for a great book, but a great plot and emotions and tone makes it a great book for me.
Stephanie Julian: What book are you most looking forward to reading this year?
Susi – The Geeky Lover: Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews– I adore this series! And Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh and…you should have never asked that one. LOL

Caroline – The HEA Lover: SHADOWFEVER by K.M Moning. It’s like THE book I’m waiting for *eye twitching* Pale Demon by Kim Harrison, Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews.

Stephanie Julian: Where’s your perfect reading space?
Susi – The Geeky Lover: My little cozy chair on the balcony but only in the summer. Winter I’m more of a bed person. 😉
Caroline – The HEA Lover: In Summer, in the hanging chair outside. Otherwise in my bed. I’m just like Susi, only in French
Lea – The Danger Lover: Bed or couch propped up on a couple of pillows under a warm blanket.
Amanda – The Winged Lover: My car. I love reading in my car because its like a sound proof bubble. That and my bed.

Bea – The Charmed Lover: In my rocking chair by the window or on the couch with my cat.

Larissa – The Crazy Lover: My comfy Queen Bed! Yum!
Melissa – The Spellbound Lover: If I had a hanging chair it would be there lol but the couch is usually where I go. Or my room for a bit of quiet time from the kiddlywink!
Jackie – The Quirky Lover: I wish: A castle in Scotland, a fire, comfy chair & tea. I have: a chair, good light & lots of tea 😉

Stella – The Latin Lover:  lol, would love to join you Jackie, you could give me a comfy chair in a spare room in that castle ;-p I have a great big armchair near the windows overlooking the garden, love to read there!

Veronica – The Sexy Lover: Definitely my bed, lol!
JoJo – The Cornered Lover: I have created a little reading nook in my office in a small little inset section. It has a nice rocker recliner with a slider foot stool, and end table. I’m in heaven there! I can curl up in a little ball and read there for hours.

Perfect reading space: I'll be sitting in my comfy recliner, in my light-filled den. The house will be quiet. Good snacks–chocolate chip cookies and Diet Coke–will be on my side table. Ok, I'm going to read now.

My favorite author is Sherrilyn Kenyon (though I love many more ) but she is the reason I fell in love and hopelessly addicted to paranormal. Her Dark Hunter series has everything I ask for in a book , every emotion you can imagine you can really relate to the characters as well.

Great post. I loved seeing everyones answers.
My Favorite author is JR Ward. I am just totally in love with the Black Dagger Brotherhood and I don't see myself losing any interest in it anytime soon. It was my first foray into adult paranormal romances and I haven't looked back since.

seems I'm not the only one who likes to read in bed, much to my husband's dismay.

  • Stormy January 22, 2011 at 9:35 am

These are some fun questions and very informative, LOL. I especially paid attention to favorite author and book they are looking forward to reading this year. Some of my current favorites include Cassie Clare, Delilah Marvelle, Debra Glass, Jenny Penn, Eloisa James, Julia London…I could go on and on. I just love to read!! As far as the book I'm looking forward to it would be Cassie Clare's Clockwork Prince.

  • JenM January 22, 2011 at 9:53 am

What do you think makes a great book? – First, I've got to be able to fall in love with both of the lead characters. then I want an emotional and angsty story that puts them through a bit of hell but has an HEA at the end.

My favorite author's change with every great story I read. Currently I've "discovered", Savannah Stuart and am going through her entire EC library. Love her storytelling style, and she really nails it with the characters she writes about, and the perfect amount of romance.

  • lisagk January 23, 2011 at 11:23 pm

Great questions but I couldn't just have one favorite author, or one book that I'm looking forward to reading… and a good book, the characters are important to me but so are many other pieces of a story. so I'll answer favorite reading spot… couch… but especially when everyone else is in bed, or gone and I'm all alone and able to enjoy my book in peace.

  • Sarah January 24, 2011 at 12:22 pm

There are so many great authors out there but my favorite of favoritists has to be Dean Koontz – his writing is so lyrical and suspenseful and he's just an amazing storyteller!

  • Lillie (AliseOnLife) January 25, 2011 at 12:42 am

I've got so many favorite authors, but I think Ilona Andrews, Katie MacAlister, Melissa Marr, Maggie Stiefvater, Shelly Laurenston and Moira Rogers sit at the top of the list.

  • SweetShenanigans January 27, 2011 at 7:28 pm

I think what makes a good book is change: sounds simple, but far from it.
If characters/ the environment doesn't change, it makes for an uninteresting read.
The more dramatic the change, the better 🙂
