The Heart of the Killer by Jaci Burton

Before the Special Forces hero has even unpacked his bags from twelve years of active duty, he’s embroiled in murder—corpses bearing the brutal trademark he’s seen only once before—on the worst night of his life.
The last time Detective Anna Pallino saw Dante Renaldi, they were in love. Now, he’s part of the connection to a string of fresh homicides and a horrible assault Anna only survived thanks to him.

More than anything, Anna wants to trust Dante. But as the bodies and the coincidences stack up, Anna will have to decide, and fast: Is the man she owes her life to the very same one who wants her dead?

"The heart of the killer" sounds very intriguing. I think it's too early for Christmas books, at least for me.

@Mary Muahahhah I think these publishers must have fun making up those titles 😉

@Natalija Yeah I'm not yet in the mood to read Xmas book. But I guess it's coming fast!

@Regina Ross I've read great reviews about it! I'm definitely interested too

The only book I had pre-ordered is A Vampire for Christmas, because of the Alexis Morgan story. But the rest looks nice 😉

  • pattepoilue October 18, 2011 at 10:06 am

@Aurian I've never read anything by Alexis Morgan. Now you have my curiosity piqued!

  • Sullivan McPig October 18, 2011 at 10:46 am

I'm curious about Beauty and the Werewolf. I'm not a big fan of this particular series by Mercedes Lackey, but this one does sound tempting.

And Blood drive does sound cool as well.

Hi Pattepoilue, well, then you are in for a treat. A great secret brotherhood of warriors, fighting aliens at underground borders, dying time and time again. But now they start finding mates 😉

@Sullivan McPig I'm not usually a fan of retelling of Tales but sometimes it works. I've actually never tried a book by Mercedes Lackey *hides from the rock throwing*

@Aurian Ohhhhhh oh that sounds nomnomy. I will check it out! *g*

@Jane The more I look at the cover the more I want to read it (yes i'm a cover wh*re!)

Yup, The Heart of a Killer is on the list. I'd also like to read Legacy.

  • pattepoilue October 18, 2011 at 2:53 pm

@Karen C I think The Hear of a Killer seems to be a winner this week 😉

  • Stella (Ex Libris) October 19, 2011 at 6:56 am

Caro I know! I was shocked last week when Mandi at SMeyBooks had a post full of X-mas books tehy just received! I mean it was the 1st-2nd week of October! Though I love Christmas I draw the line of not reading anything Christmas themed before November. (of course I can't wait for it to be November so I can indulge in all the holiday stories 😀 lol)

and that Mercedes Lackey book looks great, would love to read it!!

  • pattepoilue October 19, 2011 at 7:10 am

@Stella It's crazy!! *sigh* Yep I draw a line too. Just like I read Summer reads in the Summer I need my Xmas books close to Xmas =P Those are always so deliiiiiicious *g*
