Hey all and welcome to another what’s on My Wishlist segment.  Today’s posts is dedicated to Vampires i.e. in counting down hours until the season finale of The Vampire Diaires.. *cough* Damon *cough*

The reason I chose these books/series is because I already worn out my copies of these books and new to replace them. Wish me luck trying to come up the the money to repurchase these all, hehe!

Here’s my top five series that I want, I crave, I must have, I need and the kind I would bleed you dry, type of books. *sigh* Damon *sigh*

Without further ado…. Here’s my top five, counting down from #5:

#5 The Undead Series by MaryJanice Davidson…
Really no explanations as to why its on my list except for the fact the heroine is one great fun and full of sarcasm.

2. Undead and Unemployed
3. Undead and Unappreciated
4. Undead and Unreturnable
5. Undead and Unpopular
6. Undead and Uneasy
7. Undead and Unworthy
8. Undead and Unwelcome
and finally coming soon July 6th, 2010  book

2. Betrayed
3. Chosen
4. Untamed
5. Hunted
6. Tempted

Mmmm…so hard; so hard! If I had to pick right now (and it changes), I guess it would go something like this:

    5) Kelley Armstrong's "Darkest Powers" series is really well written. I'm on book three, "The Reckoning" and don't want it to end.

    4) Rachel Cain's "Morganville Vampires" is another new favorite–I seem to have recently discovered YA after being kind of turned off by the whole Twilight thing.

    3) The Broken Heart, OK series by Michelle Bardsley keeps me on pins and needles 'til the next release. She's working on Damian's book right now. Apparently he starts the book naked…oh how I've waited for a naked Damian!

    2) I just came across Nancy Haddock's "Oldest City Vampires" and LOVE it. Beautifully written, with a smart, sexy heroine, it sort of reminds me of Sookie.

    1) Which leads me to my number one..it is (and probably always will be) Miss Sookie. I know the most recent release isn't getting great reviews, and frankly, it isn't the strongest in the series, but I don't care. I'm completely invested in these characters and the wait between new books is often painful. I've got 'til February 2011 to find other things to read…On a personal note, I don't think it's Eric or Bill; I think it's Sam.

Great choices! And I can't help but wonder who Sookie will end up with… There are sure lots of hints and vibes betwee Sam and Sookie. Either way, I hope that there will be lot more books to come.

I am so happy that my V is reading the BDB!! I am going to try to list my top 5. (if I can remember them all)

    1. BDB of course! *BDB 4EVA*
    2. Twilight Series
    3. Midnight Breed from Lara Adrian
    4. Eric from Sookie Stackhouse Series
    5. Chicagoland Vamp Series by Chloe O'Neill

There are more. I can't remember them all, so these will have to suffice for now.

5 & 4 are series that I definitely want to start. I am hooked on the vamp diaries TV show, so I am going to be lazy and skip the books for now. 🙂

I haven't heard of the other number 3 or 2, but now I have something to check out.

Definitely want to check out Sookie. 🙂
Plus, I would highly recommend LKH ANita Blake series, it is awesome!!! I would as recommend Angie Fox's Demon Slayer series, and Kim Harrison's Hollows series.

As on my to read list is the whole Succubus series by Richelle Meade and Devon Monk's series

I kind of got burnt out on vampires a couple years ago. I haven't read many new ones recently. But I still follow the series I started before.

    1. Black Dagger Brotherhood
    2. Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands
    3. Brokenheart OK by Michele Bardsley
    4. Hunter series by Shiloh Walker
    5. the Primes by Susan Sizemore

and another two or three that I'm hoping the authors will write more in their series.

Sorry to say I never got into the Twilight series, or the Sookie Stackhouse books. And I lost interest in Mary Janice Davidson's Undead series.
I don't like most series that go on too long with one main character for all the books.

  • Veronica May 15, 2010 at 6:24 pm

Those are good choices.. I haven't read The Hunter Series or The Primes series. Will have to look those up.

I never saw what the big deal was with the twilight series.. granted Jacob look smokin' hot on the big screen but other than that.. not a fan of twilight at all. I definitely loved reading SMeyer's The Host much more than her twilight series.

Thanks for the comment love, Beth!

Those early BDB books are so easy to get addicted to! I just finished the third book in the Vampire Diaries series but I haven't see the TV series yet.

  • Melissa (My World...in words and pages) May 16, 2010 at 4:43 pm

I don't even know where to start on my wishlist. I have Karen Chance on there, and the Marked series. Actually, what you have here are on my list as well. Great list. Thanks!
