This week is extra special for the 2 of us. At the beginning of June Caro and I will meet for the first time. *squeee* I mean well in real. We will both attend the Love Letter Convention (June 2 -3 ) in Berlin and meet some fabulous authors. *jumps up and down* So for the next 2 installments we will highlight the covers of the attending authors. As always we only talk about the look of the cover- not about the book and its content. So take a cup of coffee and join the cover talk.

Maya Banks / Larissa Ione

Susi: Historical Romances aren’t my thing but well well, this cover is hot. he dude looks hot and I kinda like the pose. The plaid isn’t as tacky as it usually is on these covers. So I like. The title font is again a bit cliché but I will overlook this. I ADORE the Sweet Addiction cover so much. The pearls around her wrist are just awesome. ANd the soft and cushy carpet. Just awesome!! Love it! I think I’m indifferent on the Lethal Rider cover.  I do like it in general the pose is nice and I like the half shown faces. But well that tat looks weird. Is it a scorpion? Looks misplaced on that position and well a bit too much  like photoshop. I do like that the series again has a symbol that makes it easy to connect it to the other titles. I really like the Sin Undone cover. The black and white looks really nice even though I can’t make myself stop thinking that the woman is a dominatrix. LOL And well her scratching his chest doesn’t look like scratching. More like petting.

Caro: I’m not usually attracted to Highlander covers they are always borderline cheesy. But Never Love a Highlander is pretty sexy! I admit I find her satin clothing a bit anachronistic, but who knows maybe they did wear those centuries ago 😉 I like the sexy sexy man on this cover (apart from the haircut lol).
We already mentioned Sweet Addiction in a previous post but I just can’t get enough of it. It’s so damn sexy I give it 5 stars!
Lethal Rider works for me. I love everything about it. ok maybe not EVERYTHING..;I still find it weird that she’s looking at his nose LOL.  But I love the rest, the sexy man with the big muscles and the sexy tattoo.
The mysterious feel of it. Love it!
See…on the contrary I feel  indifference to the Sin Undone cover. The man’s chest looks like plastic. The pose looks staged. Hum…I really don’t care about it. It’s not bad but just Meh.

Susi: Bwahahahah she stares at his nose. You know what you can learn by that? Cover artist hint or what? LMAO

Caro: you perv! LOL  Or she’s tickling his nose with her lashes. Must be that!

Michelle Styles / Shannon McKenna

Caro: The first cover’s problem is that I can’t see what the title is LOL. It’s too small and doesn’t pop out. I like the dress and the post. It’s elegant and sexy at the same time. I wish it was more…colorful? I mean it looks a bit washed out. Nice cover.

The Vicking’s Captive Princess has some nice elements but also some cheesy ones. LOL I love her pose and clothes and the look on her face. I love how he has her hand in his on his chest.  But that guy’s pants just make me laugh. It’s a bit cliché but it’s not bad.
Tasting Fear is a bit bland. Maybe it’s just because I’m not usually a fan of Woman’s back on covers. I do like the earrings 😉
I like the last cover! It’s shiny and the red of the cloth matches her lips. I like it. It’s pretty cool.

Susi: His Unsuitable Viscountess looks really nice. I like her dress and that her pose makes us wonder if she’ll take it off. The color of the dress is a bit lame but prolly time-appropriate. So first the title The Viking’s Captive Princess makes me giggle but surprisingly I llike the cover. Well the pose is really a trope but well I like. Should I be embarrassed now?
The Tasting Fear cover is okay I guess. It doesn’t really rock my world. The woman and the dress are pretty enough but it just hasn’t something that catches the eye. I do adore he Blood and Fire cover. I love red and just wow. The woman on it looks hot- and her lipstick matches the fabric she has wrapped around herself. No idea why she would do that but looks good. See I’m easy to please.

Jeanine  Krock / Sandra Henke

Susi: I have to say I haven’t read any of the following titles. That’s what reading English only makes out of a German girl. I do like the Venuspakt cover. even though it reminds me of the German Julie Kagawa covers. Let’s hope the girl in the book doesn’t really look like this. *wink* The second one, Himmelsschwingen, which is a German stylised word for wings, is okay. Not spectacular but it’s more subtle. You see the wing and well I think of angels which the book seems to be about. I like the color. The Alphawolf cover is different. I’m still not really sure what to think of it. All covers in that series have this oldish feel to them and show a girl with an animal. So I guess it’s a book about shifters. Probably wouldn’t grab it in a store. The cover for Mädchenakademie is nice. It’s one of teh tamer German erotica covers. It seems German publishers aren’t as prude as Americans seem to be about showing much naked flesh on covers. I like this one cuz it has style and I like her panties.

Caro:  I kinda like the first cover. It doesn’t say much about the book but it’s ok. Very stylised. I like the green. I do not like the 2nd cover. It is O_o. I’m guessing there’s an angel involved but blergh. if you follow the direction of the wings the body would be facing the sky…isn’t that weird???
I really love the Alphawolf cover. It’s so pretty and different! I like the painting style of this cover. I love her hair blending with the background.. My only concern is that her hand made me think of E.T! LOL
Ah! Indeed German erotica covers usually are much more revealing that this so we should feel lucky! I like the last cover. But it’s not exceptional. Makes me think of all those Aubade Ads 😉

Are you going to the Love Letter Convention? If so we can’t wait to meet you!! *g*

What do you think about these covers? Which do you like which do you hate?
Have you read/plan to read books from these authors?

Yes, I am going! Am soo looking forward to it! Still have to read some books by those authors, and I can’t believe I totally forgot one! Not going to bother with the German authors though, my German is not that good.

“At the end of June” should be, the start of June or something.

oops thanks Aurian I fixed it! I wanted to read a few books by these authors but not sure I’ll have time before convention. =P I won’t bother with the German ones either 😉 LOL

Wooot. I’m so excited to meet you!! *g*

The model for Maya Banks and Larissa Ione’s Lethal Rider, both are Paul Marron, in case you don’t notice it 😛
But I like Sin Undone than Lethal Rider. I mean, for Lords of Deliverance covers, I love the UK version rather than US. Have some “horsemen” feeling, IMO.
And, is it Shannon McKenna supposed to write thriller suspense? Tasting Fear look like historical romance cover, just sayin :/

My boss plan to go to German soon! But I think he will not let me go with him 🙁

    • Susi May 7, 2012 at 2:18 pm

I so love that guy. *g* And I don’t really know if that new book is rom suspense. Her other books are.

    • pattepoilue May 7, 2012 at 4:08 pm

Teehee I didn’t realize it was him on these covers. I have to ask…can you always spot him on covers? *g* I love your Paul Marron radar!

  • blodeuedd May 7, 2012 at 1:26 pm

I love sweet addiction, it’s just so sexy.

the German ones, not so much.

And I would love to go, but we are saving for a flat 🙁

    • Susi May 7, 2012 at 2:18 pm

I love the cover too. Well a flat is important too. Perhaps next time 🙂

    • pattepoilue May 7, 2012 at 4:10 pm

Indeed more important. And there will always be a next time.
I am so in love with the Sweet addiction cover I nearly got the book even thought it has really bad reviews =P

  • draconismoi May 7, 2012 at 3:18 pm

Ooo, I like the Alphawolf cover. That is the kind of cover that gets me to buy a book without thoroughly vetting the author as urban fantasy or paranormal romance.

    • pattepoilue May 7, 2012 at 4:07 pm

Me too me too! I still have no idea what the book’s about though

      • draconismoi May 7, 2012 at 4:51 pm

A werewolf. Or psychic wolf. Or psychic woman who can talk to animals. Either interpretation matches the awesomeness of the cover.

This is why I keep unintentionally reading books I hate based on kick-ass covers. Reading the blurbs can be very helpful.

        • Susi May 7, 2012 at 4:58 pm

I really think it’s romancy and well German. LOL 😉

          • Draconismoi May 7, 2012 at 11:45 pm

Bloody Germans and their romances with wolves. I want wolves that EAT people. I will seek out wolves that eat people, and then review it, so more people can enjoy man-eating wolves.
