Welcome to this week’s news post! For this edition we have some tidbits and news from Patricia Briggs’ upcoming Mercyverse anthology, Amazon’s new imprint and Google’s new time suck writing demo which allows you to collaborate with Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe .

First up! Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere has been adapted by BBC radio with an all star cast starring, Benedict Cumberbatch, James McAvoy and Natalie Dormer. The first episode of the 6 part series will air this Saturday at 2.30pm GMT at BBC Radio 4.  And this will be widely available worldwide via Radio iplayer which wont be restricted to geo restrictions for those who missed the live broadcast!

Amazon announced today it will be launching a literary imprint called Little A which will focus on publishing memoirs and short stories from the likes of James Franco and Jenny Davidson. It will also focus on a digital only spin-off imprint connected to Little A which will be called Day One – this will focus on debut authors and will be available in the UK and in North Amercia

Google has launched a new demo which allows you to collaborate writing with famous writers from the ages. From Shakespeare, Nietzsche, Emily Dickenson, Edgar Allen Poe and Charles Dickens. This is a total time-suck but oh so fun and I may be tempted to write a co-write a post with one of these writers in the future or not… 😀

News in Brief:

Patricia Briggs was on tour this week to promote the release of  Frost Burned which hit the number one spot in the New York Times this week! But in a couple of signings she’s gave out some tidbits about her upcoming Mercyverse anthology which is slated for the end of the year – But she confirmed there will be a story about how Sam first met Ari with some new info on Bran, a Ben story as well one on Tad. And there will also be a short story focusing on Asil and Kara the teen wolf who was forced changed and was mentioned in Blood Bound.

Kelly Armstrong has posted some casting details from the upcoming adaptation of her Otherworld T.V series. The actress chosen to play Elena has been chosen, Laura Vandervoot will be shooting scenes this summer when production commences for the Urban Fantasy series with additional casting waiting to be announced very soon. I cant wait!

There is also great news from Ilona Andrews who announced a brand new deal and series with Avon- this is for a 3 book deal and will focus on one couple over the course of the series. Gordon has also posted a  new  Curran POV!

And now books to watch out for!

The dark and dangerous follow-up that continues the adventures of a magical tattoo artist begun in Angel’s Ink

In a world where elves, faeries, trolls, werewolves, and vampires swim free in a sea of humanity, sometimes you need an edge. Looking for a little love? Need some luck? Desperate for revenge? Gage can give you what you need. The most talented tattoo artist in town, he knows the right symbol and the right mix of ingredients and ink to achieve your heart’s desire. One tattoo is all it takes. But remember, everything has its price. . . .

Gage learned that lesson long ago, in ways he’d rather not remember. But the cruel and powerful wizards in the dreaded Ivory Towers he escaped aren’t about to let him forget. Though Gage has managed to stay out of sight, he can’t outrun the past forever.

The wizards know Gage is using forbidden magic, and they intend to punish him for his transgressions. Too bad if innocent humans and monsters-entire cities-get in the way. They will quell a nascent magical uprising and Gage will be the sacrifice they need. First, though, they have to find him . . .

No blurb is available right now but Lara Adrian unveiled the 12th book in her Breeds series, Crave the Night earlier this week!

The Google Demo link takes me to an announcement that they cast Elena in Bitten. Which is good news, but also not the distraction I was hoping for….

I was never a fan of Vandervoot :/

I am going to keep an open mind – I think the age range works and i think she’s a better choice than Angelina Jolie 😛 She was originally attached for the movie version for Bitten and I think that would have totally failed.

      This is SO AMAZINGLY AWESOME.

I put my Starve Or Attack Trolls With Dragons debate in there – and it was magnificent!

I think we need to some joint posts. Maybe get a guest author in on it. What questions would Neitzche ask, hmmm?

All good book news: Patricia Briggs, the more books the better. The Jaye Wells book looks great, and of course Lara Adrian is autobuy. But not in hardcover.
