This week we have an unexpected French covers invasion. Caro visited her French amazon site and was bombarded with new, more or less, gems for our post series. Here is what she found. Be prepared for optical illusions, whory lipstick and messy heroines that never change their shirt. Enjoy and please leave us your two cents in the comments.
Susi: I like the Masques cover. The girl looks really mysterious and the wolf has this intriguing look- as if he’s gazing right into your soul. But again really much blue and that’s just not my color.
I’m not really sure what I should think of the Angels’ Blood cover.The feather doesn’t look like an angel feather. It looks so ordinary. Not sure what …
Today I am extremely happy to welcome to BLI and introduce to you a wonderful new author and one of the kindest persons I know: historical fiction author Priya Parmar! Priya’s debut novel Exit the Actress (released in February) takes the reader on an enchanted time travel back to the colourful and buzzing theatre scene of 17th century London. You can read my review of Exit the Actress here, but now please give the warmest welcome to Priya and read on to discover more about her, the novel and all the little secrets behind the writing of the story there is to know 😉
Stella: Priya can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Priya: I did not plan to write a novel. It just sort happened in a really fun, collective way. I did postgraduate work at the University of Edinburgh …
Hey Everyone!
I hope you are all having a nice sunny weekend and since the sun has finally decided to come out and be warm after a couple of gray and quite cold days here everyone is taking advantage of the spring weather and spending it outisde. My family has decided to go down to our country cottage too to look after the garden (grumbles) but I hope at least that there will be some quiet time when I can lounge in the sun (or shade if it’s too hot) and read a bit. But I wouldn’t dream of leaving you suffering in my absence not knowing who won this week’s giveaways, so a quick announcement then:
today congratulations are in order for …
The lucky winner of a copy of The Hidden Goddess by M.K. Hobson is: Claudia
This week’s news post its a bit of a jammed packed one with interesting announcements and drama!
First up – this was so going to happen, especially since it was no real secret that Amazon has made its ambitions into the world publishing. Amazon has announced that it will launch an imprint that will focus on romance and its debut release will be Connie Brockway’s, The Other Guy’s Bride which will be slated for release in November. It will be interesting to note how this imprint fares but since Romance is a huge and best-selling genre it was no brainer that would have started an imprint for one. This isn’t the only Imprint for Amazon which also has launched, Amazon Crossing, AmazonEncore and Powered by Amazon which is the self published line. I’d also like to note that …

Ambushed by a pest from my past, I’m rescued by a seriously hot vamp. I vowed to not allow men to use me anymore, a pledge forgotten with Michael’s first kiss. And when Julius, my first love, shows up bitter …
Today we are delighted to welcome author Sierra Dean. Sierra writes urban fantasy and her first novel, “Something Secret This Way Comes” is being released next week, on the 10th. We were chatting on Twitter about tropes and I mentioned that she had used some of my least favorite tropes in her book. Despite that, I enjoyed the book. So when she was considering guest post ideas, the subject of tropes seemed appropriate. Please give her a warm welcome and after the article, see what she has for one lucky person.
Whether we want to admit it or not, there’s only so much originality to be found in the idea pool for urban fantasy and paranormal romance authors. There are only so many ways to tell the genesis stories …
We are very happy to welcome author Thea Harrison here at Book Lovers Inc today. Her new novel, Dragon Bound was just released and with all this pre-release buzz we just couldn’t pass on the chance to ask her some question about her work. Pleas give Thea a warm welcome.
BLI: Thea can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Thea: I have been lucky in that I’ve had the opportunity to travel. I lived in England for several years, and that allowed me to see a bit of Europe. When I was nineteen I wrote my first category romance, and for many years I was Mills & Boon UK’s youngest author. Somehow I’ve still managed to wear quite a few hats—as a teenager I was a waitress, and I’ve been a receptionist, an office manager, a penniless …
Hey Everyone!
Something has been constant from the very first historical romance novel I have read (Velvet Angel by Jude Devereaux) when I was about 18 to this day: the kind of hero I find irresistible. The one that always makes me swoon from the very first scene he enters the story and makes my heart and eyelashes flutter:
the Scottish Highlanders!
I bet many of you understand my boundless attraction to them, but for those who need to see the light and understand why Scottish Highlanders are better than any simpering Regency or Edwardian Duke*, here it is:
– they are always warmhearted (no matter how big and strong they are, every single one of them melts in front of little children :-D);
– they are ALWAYS tall, strong, muscular, fierce looking, with chests hard as rock and a colossal height, they are the epitome of virility;
– a woman always …
