Book Blurb:

Forget ghosts who rattle chains, try living with ones that like to grope.

Jenna, desperate for change, buys a repossessed home on a whim. The townsfolk claim it’s haunted, but Jenna’s pretty sure all it needs is some filler to stop the drafts. But before long, even she has to admit, there’s more going on here than the vagaries of an old house. And whatever it is keeps making her panties damp and her dreams hot.

Derrick and Mark, werewolf twins, are stuck in their house as disembodied spirits all because of an evil witch. When their fated mate suddenly becomes the new owner, they …

Bookish Rants or Raves: Is Bigger, Better?

Hey Everyone! After this hiatus, when Authors took over our beloved Book Lovers Inc., I am back =)

I have been thinking about length when it comes to books. They can be in a series or standalone, but do the length matter? Do you prefer shorter books or longer ones? Full Novels or Novellas?

I am usually partial to Full length novels in general, but I have enjoyed a lot of Novellas and I feel that sometimes they are perfect in size to tell some stories that don’t really need 300+ pages to be told.

However, there are some Novellas or shorter length novels that have the potential to be so amazing, that the shorter length just doesn’t do it justice. In those cases, bigger would definitely be better.

Now, I want to know from you guys…

Do …

Book Blurb:

All I see are murky depths that could swallow me whole.

Mom knew that the mermaids – hand carved from driftwood by the owner of a souvenir shop – were all I wanted to take home from Florida. As she bought them, she looked down at me, her eyes not just glittering but snapping with fire like two Fourth of July sparklers. She ran her finger down the length of my nose, almost like you’d stroke a favourite pet, and said to the salesman, “We’re just alike, me and Aura.”

And you know, back then, the …

Young Adult: The Simpler Side of Life?

Sometimes I think people would say that I whinge more about YA than I read it, but that isn’t true. YA is like a friend or relative I turn to when everything gets too much. YA provides a simpler outlook on life devoid of adult issues and ways.

I have often said that it would be nice to be a kid again, when times were simpler. All one had to worry about was our friends, our homework and what movie we really wanted to see when our mum’s would let us go. Our biggest issue in life was a boy/girl not liking us or one of our friends giving us the silent treatment. Compared to what I have to deal with as an adult…that seems like heaven.

Yet young adults in general are so eager to grow up so it is …

Being an author, there is a certain level of expectation from the people I meet. As soon as they find out what I do they assume I’m rich and famous. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Early on in my career even I had these preconceived notions about the life of a writer. I remember …

The novel that inspired the TV series Moonlight puts a twist on the classic Dracula vampire tale and blends it with Chandler hardboiled P.I. detective fiction.

LA-based P.I. and vampire Mick Angel has been hired by a beautiful red-headed burlesque dancer to find her missing sister. But the apparently simple case of a teenage runaway is soon complicated by drug dealers, persistent cops, murder, and Mick’s own past. Mick must learn the hard way what every vampire should know – nothing stays buried for ever, especially not the past.

My Thoughts:

A book about Mick from the CBS series Moonlight? Hell yes, I had to read this one. Angel of Vengeance is …

Explore This! Bozeman, Montana

I’ve just finished reading Cryer’s Cross by Lisa McMann. The story takes place in Cryer’s Cross, Montana. My cursory Google check shows me that this is a fictional town, so I’ve decided our tour this week will be of Bozeman, Montana, another, larger, town mentioned in the book.

First, let me say, after reading the book, I wouldn’t be putting Cryer’s Cross on my wish list anyway, with all the disappearances and creepy goings-on there so, thankfully it is ficticious. Bozeman is, happily, not afflicted by Lisa McMann’s imagination making it a much more attractive place to visit. The book also mentions the remoteness of the area and the lack of cell phone accessibility or fast food restaurants. My big question for all of you out there: Could you give up technology and certain modern conveniences to live in a beautiful area …

Thanks to Book Lovers Inc. for inviting me by the blog today. My name is Sloan Parker, and I write m/m (male/male) erotic romances and romantic suspense. Which means when I’m writing, I’m thinking about men…a lot!
