Once burned twice shy… but when old flames come together…passion reignites…
When burned once… Arriving in London as her goddaughter’s chaperone, Baroness Diana Palmerston-Wriothesley wants to avoid her erstwhile lover at all costs. Once nearly consumed by passion, four years has reduced the former inferno to bitterness and ashes.
By an old flame… A world-weary master of seduction, Ludovic “The Devil” DeVere is bored with his chosen life of debauchery. When Diana’s charge disappears, she is forced to seek help from the devil’s lair, and their mutual desire reignites with undeniable ferocity.
Fire is best fought with fire… While DeVere is hell-bent to have her back for keeps, Diana is equally determined to bring him to …
This is Part Two of Victoria Vane’s gracious and very extensive interview with us (for part one click HERE). In this section of her interview, Victoria gives our readers an introduction to the players in each of the four parts of The Devil DeVere series, as well as letting us in on some of her favorite scenes. And as an added treat, her characters DeVere and Diana have deigned to answer a few of what they obviously considered rather impertinent questions from this reader. 😉 Also, don’t forget that there is a giveaway waiting for you at the end!

When Mae-June July Augustine hightailed it out of Sultry Springs, Texas, with her heart in pieces, she swore she’d never return. But nine years later, one thing stands between June and her dream of opening an upscale martini bar: a month of community service under the supervision of the devilishly sexy Luke Gallagher, her first love and ex-best friend. As lust turns to love, June must decide where she belongs: in the glorious anonymity of Austin …
Today (and tomorrow!) we are incredibly pleased to welcome historical romance author Victoria Vane to Book Lovers Inc. Victoria has, by turns, enthralled, enraged, and enraptured us with her four-part novella series featuring the Devil Ludovic DeVere. In conjunction with the review of the fourth (but it turns out not totally final) story in the series, Victoria sat down and answered a few (lot) of our questions about her writing process and the series. She also let us make a few inquiries of DeVere and Diana, the hero and heroine of this Georgian-era erotic romance. Come back tomorrow for some detailed information on all the books in this luscious series, and some words from those two personages.
But first, let’s hear from their author, Victoria Vane.
Stella: Hi Victoria, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Victoria: The basics: I’m 48 years old, a mother …

Hey Everyone!
In honour of today’s guest author (Michele Hauf who is celebrating the release of her latest novel: Forever Werewolf) I thought it was time we talked paranormal romances and more precisely about my favourite paranormal creatures: werewolves!
Though they weren’t the first supernatural species I discovered or read about (those were vampires), when I read Bitten by Kelley Armstrong (I think maybe the 4th paranormal/urban fantasy I’ve come across) it changed everything. It opened my eyes to a new world and Kelley Armstrong’s Women of the Otherworld series became one of my favourite UF series and werewolves my favourite supernatural creatures. I even championed them when Moira Rogers held the epic contest between vamps and wolves.
You want to know why werewolves are dear to my heart? Let me tell you just a few of the reasons:
werewolves are warm …
Have you ever read a Banned Book? I bet you have. You might have even read a banned book to your child! Because it’s not all about sex. Violence gets challenged. Speaking truth to power gets challenged. And so do historical truths that make people uncomfortable.
And yes, sex makes a lot of people very uncomfortable!
This week, September 30-October 6, is Banned Books Week in the U.S. It celebrates the Freedom to Read what we want, when we want, and, I think, however we want, whether that’s print, audiobook, or ebook. Something that’s going to become increasingly important in the future.
It’s fitting that one of the most frequently challenged books of all time is 1984 by George Orwell. Lest we forget, 1984 is the book that brought us the very concept of “Big Brother”.
It’s easy to talk about the books that get banned or challenged. And I …
Today we are happy to welcome to Book Lovers Inc. beloved paranormal romance author Michele Hauf, who stops by to answer all my burning questions regarding, among others, her newest release: Forever Werewolf! So read on to get to know more about Michele and her latest novel and you could even win a copy of Forever Werewolf! 😉
Stella: Hi Michele, can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Michele: I’ve been writing since the early 90s. I spend a lot of time behind the keyboard but try to get away and exercise when I can. I love to muddle about in my tiny little succulent garden, and dread the oncoming winter because cabin fever sucks. Fortunately my stories do entertain me, so I can pretend I’m walking the streets of a summery Paris, even as the snow blasts my windows just over my shoulder.
Stella: Describe a typical day …
Iron Skin (Iron Skin, #1)
by Tina Connely
Genre: paranormal historical romance, steampunk
Release date: October 2, 2012 by Tor
Description:
Jane Eliot wears an iron mask.
It’s the only way to contain the fey curse that scars her cheek. The Great War is five years gone, but its scattered victims remain—the ironskin.
When a carefully worded listing appears for a governess to assist with a “delicate situation”—a child born during the Great War—Jane is certain the child is fey-cursed, and that she can help.
Teaching the unruly Dorie to suppress her curse is hard enough; she certainly didn’t expect to fall for the girl’s father, the enigmatic artist Edward Rochart. But her blossoming crush is stifled by her own scars, and by his parade of women. Ugly women, who enter his closed studio…and come out as beautiful as the fey.
Jane …
Today we’re happy to welcome B.J. Daniels on Book Lovers Inc. Her new novel Justice at Cardwell Ranch is being released today! This is the 4th book in her Montana Mystique series. Congratulations on this new release! Prepare to be hungry because B.J. Daniels will tell us about her love for food in books. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway to win your own copy of the book.
I love characters who eat!
Don’t you hate books where the characters never eat? They don’t even think about food.
That’s one reason I’ve always loved James Lee Burke’s books. His characters eat dirty rice and crawdads and other great Cajun fare.
I remember reading one of Sue Grafton’s mysteries. The bad guys were making enchiladas down by the Salton Sea from some great recipe the bad guy had. (I mean, how bad could he be if he cooked?) Sue escaped …
