Are blind dates supposed to be this bloody?

A Secret McQueen Story

They say it’s impossible to find a man in New York City. Secret McQueen needs to find two in one night. Of course, it’ll mean pulling off the impossible—find and kill a displaced rogue vampire without disrupting the first promising date she’s had in ages. As a werewolf hybrid used to walking a fine line of survival in the vampire world, though, Secret eats impossible for breakfast.

Somewhere between hello and the first round of drinks, Secret makes her move. Her target, Hollywood’s biggest star, shouldn’t be hard to spot. Just look for swarms of fans. Except every time …

Book Blurb:

The novels of the Dresden Files have become synonymous with action-packed urban fantasy and non-stop fun. Storm Front is Jim Butcher’s first novel and introduces his most famous and popular character-Harry Dresden, wizard for hire.

For his first case, Harry is called in to consult on a grisly double murder committed with the blackest of magic. At first, the less-than-solvent Harry’s eyes light up with dollar signs. But where there’s black magic, there’s a black mage. Now, that black mage knows Harry’s name. And things are about to get very…interesting.

My Thoughts:

Last year, I got my first exposure to Harry Dresden and loved him! This came in the form of a …

Now Erin has to win an internship and work late nights at a coffee shop to make her own dreams a reality. She should despise Hunter . . . so why does he sneak into her thoughts as the hero of her latest writing assignment? Then, on the day …

The Good, the Bad and the Are-You-Kidding-Me?

This week will be a bit different. For one thing, it’ll probably be a bit messy because my other half (aka Susi) is not here to get everything organized. *wink* So I thought it was time to talk about pretty covers of books yet to be released. Let’s see what the future has in store for us!

I don’t want to read all those books (well ok I want to read 95% of them lol) , some are books I can’t wait to read, some are covers I just find gorgeous, some I really don’t know anything about. It’s all for the pleasure of the eyes 😉

You can look at it as my  ‘Shallow Wish-list of Most Wanted Covers’, based mostly on how pretty or original I find the covers. So here they come…

Interview: Stephanie Tyler + Giveaway

It’s our great pleasure to welcome multi-published New York Times Bestselling Author Stephanie Tyler to BLI today. Stephanie wowed lovers of military romantic suspense with her Hard To Hold trilogy in late 2009 and early 2010. Then in October 2010, Lie With Me, the first book of her awesome Shadow Force series was published which was followed quickly by book II Promises In The Dark. Fans have had to wait a while but I’m delighted to say, In The Air Tonight, Mace Stevens and Paige Grayson’s story is to be released on July 26, 2011, and Stephanie keeps up the sexy, riveting, fast paced storytelling she established in the first two books of her series. Dell Books is the publisher for the Hard To Hold Trilogy and Shadow Force series. Stephanie has also co-written the …

Scary Winner Post

Hey Everyone!

Before I scare you all away I’ll explain that it was scary for me as there are so many winners I have to announce this week, I dreaded sitting down and going through all the giveaways and drwaing the lucky people today. But can you blame me? Outside it is warm and sunny, the garden calls me with its peaceful quiet and my book is taunting me from across the room. *resigned sighs*

Well anyway, so as today I have TONS of winners to announce, let’s get down to it, I bet you all have better things to do like enjoy the sun, take a nap, get back to that yummy book you are reading (like me!), go to the pool or just go to see why that poor cat has been for the past minutes and try to …

Around the Bookish World: News Week-in-Review

I hope everyone had a great week! This week’s news has some interesting tidbits about new publishing deals and more on Amazon’s new tablet albeit its all rumour.

First up, it looks like the US arm of Borders which has entered into administration is looking like they will enter full liquidation. I don’t really think at this point, that Borders can survive. which is a huge shame.

In a surprising and a worrying move there was an announcement by Ellora’s Cave, that author, Laurann Dohner has signed a 75 book deal with e-publisher. Now this seems to be beyond crazy with that amount of books, especially since many of the established longterm authors such as Cheyenne McCray and Lora Leigh have left the publisher. and I doubt any respectable agent would advise their client for this amount of books. However …
