Interview: Author, Maya Banks & a Giveaway!

We are happy to have Maya Banks, author of the Sweet series, here today. Sweet Temptation, book 4 in this series, was released last week and Maya is here today to answer all our questions about these books. Please give her a warm welcome.

The Geeky Lover: First of all, thanks for being here today.

Maya Banks: Thanks for having me 🙂

The Geeky Lover: Can you please tell us a bit about yourself?

Maya Banks: I live in Texas with my husband and three children. When I’m not writing or reading, love to hunt, fish, and travel. I’m a huge homebody, though, so my favorite place is home with the family.

The Geeky Lover: You live in Texas and most of your books are set in the South too. What makes this region so special to you?

Maya Banks: I love the south. Loved growing up here. …

This week on Bookish Eye Candy we are going to try something different. Instead of me just sharing a book and telling you who I would like to play the part , we are going to split it into 2 weeks. The first week I will post the book, and I would like you guys to share with me who you think should play the characters. Think of it kind of like a poll. Then the following week I will post a pic of the top suggested person, along with multiple pics of who I think should play the role. Sound good? Ok here is the first book we are going with:

Randomly Booked: Miami and Deadtown

I grew up in Miami Beach. Every year I grew older I saw more and more how much I didn’t like living there. There was nothing to do in Miami for people under the age of 21. I didn’t have a drivers license or car so when I wanted to go to some places I had to get my parents to take me where I needed to go.

At the moment I’m on vacation in Miami and during this trip I met a new friend. She gave me a few presents which made my day because each one meant something new. One of the books this friend gave me is called Deadtown by Nancy Holzner.  I immediately after I saw it knew that I really wanted to read this book but I can’t remember why.

All YA Love: Interview with Debut Author, Mara Purnhagen

Today, I’m excited to share with you an interview with Mara Purnhagen, author of Tagged. Her debut novel is set for release next week on March 1st through Harlequin, be sure to check it out!

BLI: Graffiti is not a common topic seen in books, where did the idea for this book come from?

Mara: When I wrote Tagged in 2007, I had just discovered the work of Banksy, a British graffiti artist. I highly recommend checking out his web site as well as his book, Wall and Piece.

BLI: I love the colorful cover! It shows graffiti with 2 ‘normal’ kids just hanging out yet when I think of graffiti, rough looking kids come to mind. What does this tell us about the book?

Mara: Thanks! I love the colors, too, and I hope the cover conveys that the main characters are very average kids.

BLI: Gorilla’s are found spray painted around …
