Author Interview with Marie Harbon + Giveaway

Today we welcome to Book Lovers Inc. Marie Harbon, author of an exciting new science fantasy series, the first chronicle of which Seven Point Eight was released a couple of months earlier. I have to confess that the title of Marie’s novel got me intrigued, so of course when I had the chance to interview her, I just had to ask her about it. 🙂 Please give Marie a warm welcome and read on, because besides learning more about her novel, you could also have a chance to win it!

Stella: Hi Marie, welcome to Book Lovers Inc! Can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
Marie: Hi there! I’m a UK based writer of science fiction, the paranormal, urban fantasy and generally the pretty weird. I also stitch as well as write, and teach on a casual basis to draw in some survival funds.

Stella: Describe a typical day of writing? Are you a planner or pantser?

Marie: I …

Guestpost: Publishing Today – No Boundaries – All Options by M.J. Rose

Today we are happy to welcome author M.J. Rose at Book Lovers Inc. She’s an international bestselling author of numerous thrillers and mysteries who now decided to actually dare something new. She selfpublished a book full of fan fictions written by a published author. Today she will tell us about her choice to self-publish. Let’s give her a warm welcome!
In 1998 I self-published online in order to get a traditional deal.
I was taught to think outside the box. Before my grandfather was one of the original Mad Men, he and a group of other Air Force Intelligence officers formalized brainstorming as a problem solving technique. He taught the concept that creativity can be taught at Buffalo University. My dad invented toys. My mom was a photographer.

So when my agent told me that while publishers loved a lot about my work they …

The Good, the Bad and the Are-You-Kidding-Me?

Herzlich Willkommen everyone to this weeks edition of coversnark. We will venture into the deep and ugly sphere of German book covers. You will see the unbelievable today (not joking here) but we also got some nice ones in tow to soften the damage we will cause your eyes.
We advice to read on with caution- you will never be able to undo the damage. Keep in mind that no authors had a say in these covers and we should all offer our condolences for them.

Caro: I’m not really sure why the publishers still think adding bats is a good idea. Yes we get it, these are vampire books O_o Sadly none of the Brothers can turn into bats. *sigh* The covers aren’t ‘Bad’ but I’m …

The Coming Back Winner Post

Hey Everyone!

I am baaack! :-))

First I was away studying then being busy passing my exams (so a big big thanks to my fellow Book Lover Ladies for taking care of my load and helping me to concentrate on passing the bar exam *big hugs to you all*), then as a reward for passing the exam with flying colours I went on a mini vacation with my family. (Don’t you just love reward trips? *grins*)

First we went to Normandy (North of France) and visited some beautiful sights like:

Étretat

the Mont Saint-Michel

just to name a few (I also saw the first boutique opened by Coco Chanel in Deauville ;-), then we ended my reward trip with a few days in Brussels where I strolled the parks and the shopping streets *wink*

So now I am back full time both to blogging and as …

Around the Bookish World: News Week-in-Review

Welcome to this week’s news post! I hope everyone had a great Halloween! This week brings news major developments with Amazon announcing a lending library to Prime customers and leaked details of the upcoming Nook Tablet as well as upcoming books/covers and tidbits in the world of books!

The news that has made waves over the past few days is the announcement from Amazon about a lending library which will consist currently of 5000 books, some by bestselling popular authors to Prime customers. The lending is restricted to the hard devices like the Kindle and customers wont be to use this feature with desktop or phone apps and that only one book may be borrowed a month at a time. I think this is pretty savvy of Amazon and I suspect it is to help take away the wind off …

Blurb: Only one thing stands between Alaina and her passion. His name is Scott.

Alaina knows her cars, and she doesn’t view what she does for a living as stealing. Using all the physical attributes she has at her disposal, she merely acquires the high-end vehicles for a business partner. Although the beautiful cars turn her on, she has her heart set on a particular gem. When she finds her jewel, Alaina is pleasantly surprised by its handsome owner, Scott.

Now she’s faced with a dilemma. Does she choose the man or the gem?

My Thoughts: Ruby Red Metallic is a very short but incredibly hot erotica novella!

Alaina is a strong, independent and sensual young …
