How Do You Like Your….Love Scenes?

I write hot. Steamy, burn the bed [or insert alternative] down hot. They’re romances first and foremost though. For me, I really believe the love/sex scenes of a book are crucial to the developing relationship in a romance novel. Yeah, you guessed it. You won’t find any closed doors in my books LOL. It’s during these most intimate moments …

Blades of Winter (Shadowstorm, #1)
by G.T. Almasi
Genre: science fiction/alternative history
Release date: August 28, 2012 by Del Rey

Nineteen-year-old Alix Nico, a self-described “million-dollar murder machine,” is a rising star in ExOps, a covert-action agency that aggressively shields the United States from its three great enemies: the Soviet Union, Greater Germany, and the Nationalist Republic of China. Rather than risk another all-out war, the four superpowers have poured their resources into creating superspies known as Levels.

Alix is one of the hottest young American Levels. That’s no surprise: Her dad was America’s top Level before he was captured and killed eight years ago. But when an impulsive decision explodes—literally—in her face, Alix uncovers a conspiracy that pushes her to her limits and could upset the global balance of power forever.

Interview with Author Susan Wiggs + Giveaway

Please join us in welcoming Susan Wiggs to BLI today. Susan is here as part of her blog tour celebrating the release of Return to Willow Lake, the latest book in her Lakeshore Chronicles contemporary romance series. Return is an appropriate title, because this is Susan’s first trip back to the world of the Lakeshore Chronicles in two years. I’m sure that she has a lot of fans who have been itching for a return to this marvelous little town in the Catskills and the people that they have become familiar with (and probably quite fond of) during the course of this series.

BLI: Susan, tell us a bit about yourself- perhaps something no one would expect from you?

Susan: Hmmm. I’m not very mysterious so I don’t know if I can tell you anything unexpected. Maybe it’s unexpected that I’m a newlywed, seeing how I’m older than dirt. And my …

Interview with Author Gina L. Maxwell + Giveaway

Today, we’re absolutely thrilled to have Gina L. Maxwell as our guest at Book Lovers Inc. She’s here today to discuss her latest book from the new Entangled Brazen imprint, Seducing Cinderella (see our dual review later this week).

Stella: Hi Gina, welcome to Book Lovers Inc! Can you please tell us a bit about yourself?

Gina: Hi, ladies, thanks for inviting me over! I’m a hopeless romantic, a wife and mother with an unhealthy addiction to Keurig coffee and dark chocolate. I’ve also been told my super power is Sonic Perkiness. 

Marlene: Describe a typical day of writing? Are you a planner or pantser?

Gina: I’m not a rigid schedule person, though I give it the old college try at the beginning of every week, only to resign myself to the crazy ways I’m most comfortable with. I try to write Mon-Fri in the afternoons as much as possible. Sometimes that happens, …

The Saying Goodbye Winner Post

Hey Everyone!

Before you think I’m the one saying goodbye to YOU let me reassure you that’s not the case, you won’t get rid of me so easily 😉 No, it’s the end of summer and that means my little sister leaves home and returns to school. Abroad. 🙁 This year she’s doing an exchange program and will be studying in sunny Lisboa (Portugal), so you can guess where I’ll be spending my autumn holiday 😉

This time of the year is always a bit sad: after having spent months with her, doing all those special sister bonding stuff (from late night Smash marathons to Sunday afternoon bakings, from summer picnics to shopping sprees) it makes me sad that I won’t see her for months. I got so used to her being a phone call away and her stopping by my office for an impromptu lunch between sisters *sigh* Well, anyway I am glad …

Around the Bookish World: Week-In-Review

Welcome to this week’s news post! This week we have another author meltdown which is a bit of a doozy and news on Barnes and Nobel news as well as the upcoming books to watch out for.

Barnes and Nobel have announced that they will be finally expanding in the UK market with their Nook devices. They have a launched a Nook UK online store which will offer their products but they also plan in teaming up with retailers which will sell their devices to customers in stores although there is no details on who it will be. However it may not be as easy to break into the UK market as the Kindle, which is already offered in a few stores as well as the Kobo and even the Sony ereader have made in-roads in the ereading/ereader market. Barnes and Nobel is also facing a tough financial time, because …
