Romance and Me: The Arranged Marriage/Fake Engagement Trope

Hi Everyone!

I have already told you about some of my favourite tropes, like the friends to lovers or enemies to lovers ones, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention another one of my all-time top favourite tropes: the arranged marriage/marriage of convenience/faked engagement one. Yep. It may sound like a mouthful, but they are SO delicious 😉

Arranged marriage tropes are usually found in historical romances. I was introduced to them through some Pride and Prejudice fanfiction where Lizzie had married Mr. Darcy while still hostile towards him, but usually he was unaware of her feelings and when he realized that his wife hated him after he got over his heartbreak they tried to make their marriage work by getting to know and respect each other. And the more similar stories I read, the more I craved. And …

Sunday Cravings

Hello my fellow Book Lovers everywhere in the world! How are you this weekend? Had an interesting week? The week here in Greece as I’m sure everyone by now will now was really interesting and quite frightening in some aspects. For one more time Greek people find ourselves in the midst of some unprecedented events and if I wasn’t part of the book blogging community and this one not a post about books I may never made a mention on those events, but I think that for all of us who share publicly their opinion whether it is on books or anything else, freedom of speech is crucial. Whether it is spoken or written. A freedom that is seriously jeopardized  here in Greece from the recent events and the suspension of our public TV. Since for personal reasons I need to prepare this post in advance I don’t know the latest …

Interview with Eve Devon + Giveaway

Stella: Hi Eve, welcome to Book Lovers Inc! Can you please tell us a bit about yourself?

Eve: Hi Stella, thanks so much for having me here today. Let’s see, I live in leafy Surrey in the UK with my very own hero Hubby. I feel most like “me” when I’m creating stories and still have to pinch myself that I get to call this my job. I love Castle, Sherlock, The Big Bang Theory and all things Agatha Christie. I’m a bit suspicious about exercise! Oh, and I’m really bad at singing (we’re talking dogs howling, bad). Why is it that people who can’t sing, love to?

Stella: Oh I LOVE those shows as well! 😀 Are you a planner or pantser? Can you tell us a bit about your writing process? How do your novels come to life?

Eve: I think I’m a little of both. I’ve learnt over the …

This Blog Has Been Taken Over By Dragons. Poll + Giveaway.

As discerning readers have no doubt noticed….This blog has been taken over by dragons!

This really shouldn’t come as a shock. Dragons are magnificent and powerful creatures. They range from brilliant, duplicitous, magic-wielding immortals – to the less-strategically inclined, but equally deadly, fire-breathing, poison-spewing, feral winged-creatures terrorizing all who dare to enter their territory.

Even as we speak, they are shoring up their defenses and laying in siege weaponry. Soon the dragons shall spread throughout the internet and into your computer.

THEY CANNOT BE STOPPED. (Plus, who would even want to try? Only soulless monsters who have to appreciation for literature, art, beauty, and the distinct pleasure of having one’s head still attached to one’s body.)

Dragons can, however, be placated. Through copious amounts of praise and treasure. Book Lovers Inc. has thus begun honoring our draconic overlords through Dragon Day (in which there has been much praise, and the promise of treasure). This shall be …
